So I found a store by me that sells organic grass fed beef tallow. I know JM is a big proponent of anything grass fed as well as cooking with saturated fats as they don't denature as quickly under heat. Just wondering If anyone has ever used this as a fat source

For what it is worth . . . McDonalds used to cook its french fries in beef tallow.
I highly doubt if was from grass fed beef but they sure did taste good back them.
But they have changed to various vegetable oils via customer feedback, health
concerns.

plant oil is more common in my family for low fat, just add liitle lard for exquisite aroma

Agreed , vegetable oil always be my first choice

Rethink that if your health is a main concern. Veggie oils are terrible (soy, veg, canola, etc)

There is a franchise(I think) called Burger Monger. Their burgers are little pricey, but the beef tastes different in a good way. The fries are cooked in beef tallow oil. Had the wife look them up, the meat is different also, although not grass fed(at least it's not claimed) I think it is healthier than typical ground beef found at the burger joints.

render fat from beef.
fry potatoes in that!

fucking killer!

he used to make these potatoes.. terrible for you but...
dice them inch or lil bigger in size
in real kitchen they get pre fired, then fried again quick when ordered.
after they fry fast n hot so just out side crunchy
take them out n toss into sauté pan with home made bread cumbs salt pepper butter... lol

toss that around for few mins...

haven't made them in years but supper yummy!

beef fat makes it better!

also learning how to fry right is important. but...

We have several Burger Mongers here and you are right about the burgers. They are made from a beef similar to Kobe beef. And you really can taste the difference in the beef. I'm not sure about what they cook the fries in, but they are just about the only ones I'll eat.

Oh I agree taste wise that rendered animal fat is better. I was more thinking along the lines of a healthy fat as compared to Olive or coconut oil. Being that grass fed beef is supposed to be better for you I was wondering if the fat from grass fed beef would also be a better choice

i think heat during rendering could impact the fat and destroy it negating the goodness. maybe. lol

prob not worth the work to find out.
if you look at your oils above you will note that cold pressing is key for optimum quality...
