i have been looking into trying organ meat as everything i have read on the subject is positive however i tried liver once before and after cooking it it became furry and disgusting, anyone have tips to make it nice and what meats do you consume
I love chicken livers seasoned with Mrs.Dash, flowered and cooked in butter then add a little Sherry at the end. I am not a big fan of beef liver though. I guess you can always take desiccated liver tablets/powder? NOW has a cheap desiccated liver powder. I was thinking of adding a Tbsp. to all my shakes.
I tried beef liver a few times, it's not too bad... kind of an acquired taste I guess. I thought it tasted best sauteed with onions, a little flour, lots of seasoning, and accompanied with beer.
I should probably pick up some more because as you said it's supposed to be good for you... it's the kind of thing I could maybe eat once or twice a week. Not a daily thing for me...
Apparently eating organs and glands of certain animals is beneficial to the organs and glands of the one doing the eating. Glandular therapy is a real science that works. Liver tabs will supercharge your liver. Same with many other glands/organs tabs. Don't they eat tiger penis over in China? They must be trying to compensate for something. Ha ha ha

Calf Fries(testicles) aka Prarie Oysters are a mainstay here in Oklahoma. In fact, Toby Keith opened a restaurant here and they are a popular menu item.
I watched Bear Grylls kill a reindeer by stabbing it in the neck then drinking its hot blood and gutting it and eat its heart... That was some fresh organ meat.

I used to eat lots of chicken gizzards and liver and onions. Then someone made the comment about the function of the liver. Filtering and removing toxins from our body. This made me think of the liver as a sponge full of toxins.Haven't eaten it since.
