Just read an article where testosterone and salt are linked to high blood pressure which in turn is the cause of most migraines other then tension headaches? Any thoughts?

I had migraines a few times a week until the day I started on armour thyroid. Just another possibility.

They actually put me on blood pressure meds but I'm starting to notice that the only common denominator b/t when I have em frequently and maybe once a quarter other then pre-workout supps is test

This January I started getting them. I had to cut my test and NPP+ mod/ipa cycle short due to puffy, leaky nipples. About 1-2 weeks later I was driving my rig and had a sudden loss of vision, like a grapefruit sized blackspot in my direct line of sight. I pulled over and then I got this shimmery line across my vision as well, I thought I was having a stroke or an aneurism. 20mins later it was all gone so I started my truck and headed to my next customer. About thirty mins later I got super noxious and started puking. My head felt like it was going to explode and all I could do was huddle into a ball on the sidewalk, close my eyes and puke for an hour. It fucked me up good. Went to the doc the next day, blood tests, ct scans etc. said I was fine they were just migraines. I got 1-2 a month all this year. I changed a lot of things in and out of my diet and finally (hopefully) found the culprit. I cut out caffeine. I have been migraine free since August(fingers crossed).

I too thought it might be gear related but have been on test since April and deca from July-November, with dbol peppered in there every other month. I drank blue Rockstars, redline, red bulls on the daily when I was working graveyard a few years ago. Picked up a daily coffee habit last December and Im guessing my body just didn't like it.

No surprise there. Salt/sodium alone can do that to us. Test usually raises BP a bit for most so yeah in combo they'd be even worse

maybe some useful for some of you...

Theirs a hospital clinic out in my neck of the woods that specialize in migraines and they are recommending all there patients take b-2 300mg daily along with 400mg magnesium daily.

Thanks for all the great info and definitely gonna try b2 and magnesium

Be smart. Take a proactive approach to the use of AAS and other supplementation.

Take regular blood work and be honest about you health 100% of the time.

All of that can be controlled but YES it is commonly caused by people abusing supplements and not be educated on their use.

I recently had something like what shmobol said happen to me and I have been taking aspirin when I feel a headache coming on and it goes away so I am thinking it is high blood pressure.
It is my own fault though because I am on my first cycle and I noticed that I could eat a shit load of garbage and it made me look fuller and did not deposit as fat on my body(I noticed this around thanksgiving). So I foolishly just started eating all types of bullshit, I was still eating about 300-400 grams of protien a day but alot of salty fatty foods along with whole containers of ice cream for dessert. And it wasn't to long started getting headaches and I could just feel the blood pressure in my body was sky high.
So I have cleaned my diet up and cut the salt and it has been good so far. Hope this helps.

Is this an issue that you have all the time or just with test? My wife suffers with horrible migraines alot... and ultimately they don't know what causes them. It one big ass guessing game!!

No when I'm on a bulking cycle it seems like its happening 5-7 days a week amd I'm eating everything in sight trying to hit 300 lbs. When I'm taking a break eating cleaner its only maybe 1-4 times every 3 or 4 months been to specialists amd until I read that article in muscle mag don't recall what mag it started making sense that salt on top of test and pre-workout supps made sense on what exactly was going on

I've had migraine's most of my life starting around 10-12. I have noticed that some foods can trigger it but that's different for most people. I'm on test the majority of the year and don't notice any increase at all.

I typically have slightly elevated bp on test so I adjust diet a little more and reduce salt intake as instructed by my doc but now she's telling me that salt intake may not effect bp as much as previously thought based on some new research. Anyway while on if I can't control my bp she will put me on a water pill which essential makes you urinate frequently and flush sodium from your system. I really don't like this approach.

Prior to this I was on a beta blocker atenelol but bp was good and is good off cycle. But the doc had me taking this daily as for migraine's and scripted tryptans and pain meds. Well I don't take pain meds anymore and the tryptans put me out for hours but I guess it's better than migraines. The only time I will use the pain med is if it happens around the time I have to work because I can't function using the other.

The atenelol seemed to help but was a low dose. As I get older I seem to have them less frequently and caffiene seems to play a role and so does alcohol but I rarely drink.

SitySlicker thanks for the info I'll add the b2 and see how that works.

Try fever few! Take 2 a day for 2 months then 1 a day there after. I swear to you this shit works and is cheap and natural. True always get blood work but if they can't figure out why try this. I can give you name after name of people who have had them all there life and has never gotten another.

Userat from my understanding the b-2 is taken first thing in the morning and if you decide to try the magnesium its to be taken at night.

b2 migraines pubmed study

Eur J Neurol. 2004 Jul;11(7):475-7.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of riboflavin for the prevention of migraine. An open label study was performed in a specialized outpatient clinic. Patients received 400 mg riboflavin capsules per day. Headache frequency, duration, intensity and the use of abortive drugs were recorded at baseline and 3 and 6 months after treatment. Headache frequency was significantly reduced from 4 days/month at baseline to 2 days/month after 3 and 6 months (P < 0.05). The use of abortive drugs decreased from 7 units/month to 4.5 units/month after 3 and 6 months of treatment (P < 0.05). In contrast, headache hours and headache intensity did not change significantly. We could demonstrate a significant reduction of headache frequency following riboflavin treatment. In addition, the number of abortive anti-migraine tablets was reduced. In line with previous studies our findings show that riboflavin is a safe and well-tolerated alternative in migraine prophylaxis.

Bro, will take month or two to get in system but does work. I found out about this when Wife started having them and yes always had all the drugs on hand, but went to one, then two and three a month migraines. Stay on it bout five, six years and never had another one. Now she hasn't taken fever few in about twelve years and has never came back. Any supplement store carries it for couple bucks. Good luck!

Willing to try anything at this point. I've already been looking into appreciate it

Bumping this to see if OP found anything that works or if anyone else has a regular pain med they use to get rid of migraines and headaches. Having this issue currently.
