as someone who is in the advertising world. blinking banners and annoyances only do so much.
take for instance, the HEAD ON commercials for that stupid headache methol roller device. they PURPOSEFULLY make their commercials repetitive and annoying (head on, apply directly to your forehead. head on, apply directly to your forehead, etc) just to keep their product in the consumers head.
but guess what, that shit stiiiiill doesnt work. people will still buy pretty much anything to fix their headache rather then buying that dumb Head On stuff.
Dumb flashing banners are always debated when it comes to only advertising and they historically have been pretty unsuccessful at increase sales.
not a complaint, just stating the reasoning why or why not it works
btw, i do advertising campaigns all day. im in grad school for advertising and still work with people within the field.
