Looking online for various nutritional values for certain foods and the numbers are wildly different from each other.

For instance I punched in 4oz sirloin tip steak (broiled) and got calories ranging from 276 to 155....protein from 31 grams to 23 grams?

Not sure which one is the right one but I would think its the 276 cal and 31 protien?

1/4 of your raw meat is protein.

I don't fucking understand why you would use imperial numbers for the product itself and metric for the macros. This actually blows my mind.

But no one understand Americans and their measurements anyway.

It's worse than you think, ALL of the numbers are all over the place, protein and fat have a varying number of calories by almost 1 per gram depending on the source, how it's cooked, etc. I made a post about it a few years ago...

Say you have 90% lean beef. So 10 of the weight is fat.

So say you have 1kg of the meat. 100g is fat giving 900 calories. Now the protein is not that easy as a lot of the weight is water but at least you can estimate fat calories/grams.

My fitness pal app is the worst, literally 10,000s of manually inputted macros that are wrong have ruined it

My suggestion is choose one of them and stick to it

yup....we always say "roughly" X amount of this and that....

there is NO real way to know exactly....

when people post up 2134.7 cals today...its kinda LOL
