Iv had a pilonidal cyst(a large abcess/cyst next to the tailbone) for about 3 years it comes and goes. I tried to pop it about a year ago(some serious pain) and got about 30ml of infection blood and pus. It went away for awhile and now it is flaring back up. To lay down for bench is just about excruciating sometimes.
I have read up on many different treatments, most all of which are surgery with a recovery time of atleast 6 weeks. The recurrence rates are about 15% also from surgery. I dont really wanna spend money, be out for 6 weeks in pain on something for it just to reoccur a year down the road.. Just seeing if any of you guys have had some experience with this. Is the surgery worth it? Or just keep living with it?
