Anyone have experience with De Quervain's tenosynovitis?

Hey guys, started getting an annoying popping/clicking in the base of my thumb/wrist a couple weeks back, didnt think much of it until it didnt go away and started to gt a little painful.

Did a little google-fu to find out what I more than likely have is De Quervain's tenosynovitis, and had this diagnosis confirmed by the sports medicine/DC guy I use. He heated it, did dry needling, and manually tractioned it and did tissue work both on the tendons and the surround muscle.

Filled him in that I'm 16 weeks out from a show and that down time isnt an option right now, and in light of that he recommended I get a cortisone shot in the wrist and continue to see him twice a week for him to work on it.

Have a couple questions that hopefully can be answered by some people here:

1.Did you receive relief/resolution from the cortisone injection?

2. Do you think that wrist wraps and wrist straps are helping or hurting the problem? Half of me thinks the support from the wraps and the reduction of load held by the straps is a good thing, and then the other half thinks the use of said accessories is bad since the problem tendons are having to slide/move underneath the compression of the wraps/straps. Wanted some opinons on that...

3. Im currently running 7iu blacktops a day (split dose). Ive never had any carpal tunnel syndromes and barely and hand numbness/tingling. Do you think this issue can be related to GH sides? Or do yall think its helping the issue more than hurting due to the recovery/healing properties of the compound?

Thanks for reading guys, hopefully someone can shed some light on my problem!

if i were diagnosing someone else posting my issue i would say the same thing, but the kicker with me is that ive been running that dose for close to a year now with no problems... So maybe its just now surfacing, but i feel it would've happened sooner if that were the sole contributor to the issue.

nothing man... it really has me scratching my head... Only thing i can think of is i started getting very consistent with doing rack pulls again and that the straps pulling on the heavier sets (working sets are usually 585 and 635) have caused an irritation after a couple months of it. Even when i wasnt consistent with the racks i was still rowing very heavy so idk if thats what it is.

i had it last [email protected] 8 moths of annoyance
I wear big watches, big face, heavy-changed that. wore braces, made a splint from metal from one of the braces, taped it up, wrapped the thumb to the rest of the hand- basically did all I could think of

its was the straps

Like it completely resolved after you stopped using straps or did it take some time off to resolve?

I still used the straps here and there, couldnt just stop. i would just let it go numb and deal with it. started making choices during the training that allowed for less here and there, example-used some mag grips for pulldowns etc
it slowly went away( couple months) noticed it less and less, until one day I realized i hadnt had it flare up in a while and it hasnt returned since
still using the straps, resumed wearing the watch, so luckily I have been in the clear as of late
