Hey guys, started getting an annoying popping/clicking in the base of my thumb/wrist a couple weeks back, didnt think much of it until it didnt go away and started to gt a little painful.
Did a little google-fu to find out what I more than likely have is De Quervain's tenosynovitis, and had this diagnosis confirmed by the sports medicine/DC guy I use. He heated it, did dry needling, and manually tractioned it and did tissue work both on the tendons and the surround muscle.
Filled him in that I'm 16 weeks out from a show and that down time isnt an option right now, and in light of that he recommended I get a cortisone shot in the wrist and continue to see him twice a week for him to work on it.
Have a couple questions that hopefully can be answered by some people here:
1.Did you receive relief/resolution from the cortisone injection?
2. Do you think that wrist wraps and wrist straps are helping or hurting the problem? Half of me thinks the support from the wraps and the reduction of load held by the straps is a good thing, and then the other half thinks the use of said accessories is bad since the problem tendons are having to slide/move underneath the compression of the wraps/straps. Wanted some opinons on that...
3. Im currently running 7iu blacktops a day (split dose). Ive never had any carpal tunnel syndromes and barely and hand numbness/tingling. Do you think this issue can be related to GH sides? Or do yall think its helping the issue more than hurting due to the recovery/healing properties of the compound?
Thanks for reading guys, hopefully someone can shed some light on my problem!
