Anyone here FRYING a Turkey for Thanksgiving?

i fry 2 turkeys every year. i inject them with cajun seasoning and marinate them in the same. one gets fried on thanksgiving day and my mom roasts one.
friday morning we leave for my hunting property and the second one gets fried saturday night in the woods and consumed with friends around a big campfire with all of the leftovers form thanksgiving.
been doing this for years.

You can create a dry brine like it was stated on the first page, and that will help draw moisture out of the skin, which will create crispier skin. After applying the dry brine ingredients, let it sit in the 'fridge for 2-3 days....if you watch food network, Alton Brown goes over this very well. His newest one goes over the dry brine and butterflying the turkey....though he cooks it in the oven.

That said, i've never fried my turkey...only ever oven baked. I might smoke one next year though.

Every year some dumbass fucks themselves up when frying a turkey.

Last year some bozo put decided to fry the turkey in the garage. Threw a frozen turkey into the fryer and....you can guess the outcome. :banghead:
