I've been taking 2grams of potassium, 1g in the morning, 1g at night and I've lot water weight and look leaner.

I mean it makes sense if potassium has to be equal to sodium, and since we consume way more sodium than potassium

Because potassium plays such an important role in maintaining a normal heart rhythm, hyperkalemia can cause dangerous, irregular heart rhythms. It may also result in bradycardia -- an abnormally slow heart rate -- ventricular tachycardia, or ventricular fibrillation. Ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation may be potentially fatal because they can lead to cardiac arrest. Some symptoms of ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation are an abnormally fast heart rate, dizziness, palpitations, angin chest pain, and shortness of breath. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, call EMS."

The in bold is what my heart does now because of the damage I suffered from my heart attack and why I have a defibrillator.
 
It's suggested to take 3.5-5k potassium a day tho, you think 2k is too much? I don't think i get it from other foods much
 
I had the same idea with potassium until it fucked me up and I tossed it, be careful with that stuff.
 
You probably get the recommended amount in your diet, or close to it, you are way over supplementing. Potassium can be dangerous, the FDA limits all supplemental potassium to 100mg.
 
I have adrenal problems right now so I need to take a lot of sea salt so I make sure to take some potassium powder and magnesium with it

... Are you even sure what you're doing....

You're sucking out cellular fluid and potentially decreasing plasma fluid volume. The ramifications of throwing off your electrolytes mess with all electrical activity in the body hence the name...
 
Just a little insight here, but a large sweet potato has 800mg'ish of potassium... aaaand how many bodybuilders love to eat potato/root starches several times a day??

Just think about it.

Also, the FDA is a JOKE whom also claim that 60g of protein/day is enough.
 
I take one to two 100mg potassium tablets a day. I've always been nervous to take anymore than that. Potassium does freak me out a bit.

Potassium can get high and cause problems if you don't consume enough sodium. You have to be very careful with them. I've seen potassium both in the high and low end of the range, based on the amount of sodium I take in.

You don't want to blindly take potassium. You only take if you need it.
