Anyone make their gym items or someone who does on here?

I know there was a thread a long time ago, but wanted to ask who actually makes things to use in their gym instead of purchasing the name on an item?

Items such as
Trap bar dead
Land mines for t bar rows
Handles for carrying weight

Etc...

I know a few people here use to or at least knows someone who does

And if they are made by urself or someone u know,

Do they do any testing of such items to see max strength and breaking point etc...

Depending on shipping and total cost i was looking for a sled, possibly a prowler and a trap bar for deads.... Just dont know if cost/labor would be over cost of buying name d items from a local distributor?

Considering what a skilled tradesman gets per hour. I wouldnt think it would be worthwhile right off the top of my head. If you ordered all the stuff and had a friend cut you a deal, then maybe. Making multiples always lower the cost . The first one takes the longest.

30 degree Hack Squat. only Startrac (formerly Flex Fitness) and Muscle D (formerly Maxicam) make them but the Flex one was the best. most companies that still make them do so at a 40 or 45 degree angle. i always wondered how hard it would be to make one if you were a welder. Also, someone should recreate Flex's Lat Pulldown. Hands down the best Lat Pull i've ever used by a wide margin.

I am guessing that you would need to build a jig/fixture to hold the pieces and keep them square and perpendicular to each other for welding or drilling which would add time and more money.
