anyone NOT have an enlarged heart from years of AAS or large size gain?

I have an enlarged heart and thickened walls. Said it was common with strength athletes but aas and gh won't help. Waiting on more tests to decide how bad it is. Only had issues since running tren and tren gives me tacychardia. Taking aas+gh with a faster heart beat = heart growth.

It may shrink after being off for a while and once I have my RHR down too.

I am going to have to respectfully Disagree ...Your heart is a muscle and will grow under stress just like your biceps ...So you might think the bigger the pump the better ...But you would be wrong .So the heart muscle enlarges but what doesnot grow along with the heart is the VALVES so you have whats called blow by where the valve used to seal making the heart pump efficent now there is a gap causing the heart to work harder to pump the same volume of blood because there is no seal and the blood that would normally be pushed into the body after the low pressuse side of the lungs is diminished because as the heart contracts the blood goes back both ways Making the heart a less efficent pump .. causing increased heart rate and more stress on the muscle snowballing the effects of enlarged heart

What you are describing is pathological enlargement. From my understanding there is some room to enlarge without leaflets failing to create a seal at systole an diastole. Normally they overlap, with some pulling they might end up edge to edge. Also the diameter of the inside chamber can stay the same with only the ventricular walls thickening. This would have minimal effect on the valves.
From what u r saying everyone that is a marathon runner would be walking around with a compromised heart. (obviously not the case).

From what you are saying Lance armstrong, who i can almost gurantee has Left ventricular hypertrophy should have major mitral regurgitation. But his Resting heart rate is still 45. And Cardio pulm conditioning few can touch.

But i get your point, and i dont know what exactly the line is between pathological and physiological enlargement. I feel it is probably that the diameters of the inside chambers of the heart dont increase much in physioogical enlargement (hypertrophy alone), while in pathological enlargement tehre is a hypertrophy and dilation togather.

I've read studies in that past that viagra has shown reversal of LVH in mice, and they do have a drug out by the name of revatio. I'm not sure how safe this is, and I'm sure there are studies that disprove this, but being that sildenafil is so easily accessible to us, it might be worth checking out. Revatio is dosed at 20mg per tab, and used 3x per day...oh and it's not recommended for those on nitrates, for obvious reasons. CJ

My LV thickness went up quite a bit while competing when my weight went from 250 on average to upwards of 280... since, I have stopped competing, and monitored closely.. in two years, the readings are down about 38% so it absolutely shows a correlation with bodyweight. My cardiologist wanted to do a case study at one time...

anyway, things to consider... AAS is the worst on the heart and LVH WHEN YOU ADD HGH to the mix... alone, studies have shown that neither exert do great of an effect...

I take an ARB, Micardis, year round now, as I already had borderline high bp throughout my youth... now, I average 125-130/70

I am huge on supps, and the regimen below has studies showing help in LVH and overall heart health, including lipids, etc..

BERBERINE (SWANSON)
CELERY SEED EXTRACT
UBIQUINOL (NOT COQ10, BIG DIFFERENCE)
MAGNESIUM OROTATE (CARDIO MAG 2.0)
HIMALAYA HEART CARE
I FORCE HEART HELP
FISH OIL AND SESAMIN
SUPER BIO CURCUMIN (LIFE EXTENSION)
BABY ASPIRIN
SLO-NIACIN (750 MG TAB 1X DAY)

something else to mention, my cardiologist was ok with me competing, it was a decision I made knowing that eing how competitive I was, it was not healthy for me to keep pushing at the national level as a super heavy...

I'm currently 235 lbs and have been up to 250lbs. When I first started lifting weights back in high school I only weighed 135lbs. I've used (and abused) AAS off and on for over 30yrs now. Back in April I went in for a complete physical at my wife's urging. The doctor ran an EKG and sent me to the cardiologist at Emory where I also had a sonigram done. I was told that my heart is normal and strong. They also told me that my blood pressure was 110/70. They took it again 30 min later and the second time it was 109/70. I really have no ideal what these numbers mean, but they told me it was unusual for someone my size to have blood pressure that low and that it was a very good thing! So at least in my case, AAS did not cause an enlarged heart.

well that must have been a huge relief for you. How tall are you (250lbs means nothing if you are 7 feet tall) and what was your heaviest stack in those 30 years?

Yes, it was a big relief. My dad and his father both died from a heart attack.

I'm 5'10" tall.
