Any feedback on one that’s better or what I should look for? I want to give it a try before I get a cpap.

I do for ptsd tremors my molars are ground to nothing from grinding my teeth in sleep. I convulse in sleep also. Sucks lol

Yep...I have NEVER been a big snorer, but this past year (started at my contest in Pittsburgh in September), I started snoring. A LOT.
Typically, my wife could nudge me or roll me onto my back and I would stop, but not this time.

I ordered a cheap mouthpiece off of Amazon (Z-Quiet, I think...about $40). It pushed my lower jaw forward and stopped my snoring on NIGHT ONE. Over time, it has kind of re-trained the way I hold my jaw, so I don't even need it every night.

Definitely worth a try before dropping bigger $$$ on a cpap.

I might give this a try as well as my mouth tape. Been taping my mouth for a couple years now, but the tape slips off some nice when I have a beard. FYI, I have a cpap and that thing freaks me out, but somehow taping my mouth doesn’t 🤷‍♂️

I’ve always thought this mouth pieces didn’t do shit but since you recommend it…

Same. Used z-Quiet for about 4 years worked well. I started with and just stayed with the #2 the stronger correction. Finally went to a c-pap though.

Any particular style or brand work best for you? I’m a grinder as well. Dentist gave me flexural to take at night but makes me groggy in the morning

Thanks for the feedback. They have so many to choose from. I’ll check out the one you mentioned.

I’m in the same boat. I know what I need to get cpap but wanted to give the mouth piece a chance
Thanks

It might work, it might not. A former client of my was the doctor who innovated tons of procedures for sleep apnea and he also prescribed mouthpieces. The mouthpieces have about a 60% success rate.

You're better off getting a CPAP. Why put a torn in half Bandaid on a gaping wound when you know the surefire way to protect it?

I wear one for grinding my teeth when stressed. My doctor used a laser wand thing to map out my teeth. Fucker cost $700.

It’s thicker than I expected but I sleep like a baby with it in. It’s like a pacifier for me. 🤣

Considering this too... I don't have apnea but snore badly enough to have broken sleep and wake up tired... there are lots of mouthpiece options and I still need to see which are producing the best results and not messing teeth/jaw up.

I am considering getting a mouthpiece at the urging of my dentist. I use a cpap, but at my last dentist appointment, my dentist happened to mention a mouthpiece might help. Now it’s just figuring out which one

I am considering the Zcomfort one... they all seem to be similar. And also working my weight down from holiday overindulgence peak of 243 back down into the low 220s asap...

CPap is the way to go I have a few friends with mouth piece all went to CPap buuuut it’s good to have the mouth piece if you hunt or camp, I just go without they bring their old tongue guards and I plan on getting one b4 next elk season

Trying this ASAP 🙌

Pre CPAP, so like 8ish years ago, I was prescribed a custom mouth guard exactly like this. My ONLY problem was that it actually reset my bite. My dentist immmediately asked what I had done lol
I actually have told this to a couple sleep doctors and they said this is very uncommon, but weirdly happened to me.

I hope it's uncommon lol years in braces as a kid after breaking my jaw ... I need better sleep as does my wife asap but really not with the F'd up teeth/jaw side effect lol

Same here. Tired of my gf punching me saying “roll over” so my snoring bear ass will hush. Endured braces way too long in my younger years to f up my jaw now. I was the nerd wearing headgear at night to pull back my overbite.

I had one prescribed, my insurance covered it. Tried it once and couldn’t wear it. Same with the cpap nose pillow. No shot in hell I’d be able to sleep with it.

I had very mild sleep apnea. “Woke up” 9 times an hour. Not sure how significant that is but I feel like I sleep fine. Haven’t been snoring lately though. When I get over 220 I usually snore a lot. Keeping weight down helps.

My friend had an interesting point. He said he’s never heard of anyone getting tested for sleep apnea and not having it. Implying they’re always going to tell you that you have some form of it to get your money.. not sure if there’s any truth to that but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I have mild sleep apnea, 5 episodes/hour. I was using a mouthpiece that I bought from American Sleep Dentistry for $750. I went from having 5 episodes/hour to 1 or 2 the entire night. My jaw has been pulled permanently forward from it so I don’t need it anymore. I wear an o2 ring at night that monitors my breathing and will alert if I have any significant drops in o2. It also monitors my heart rate.
