I was watching a youtube video of Mark Dugdale's Q&A and he had some very interesting things to say about the insulin like effects of the amino acid L-Leucine. He said he once took a bunch of L-Leucine before and workout and went hypo. He explained that L-Leucine causes the pancreas to release insulin, but it is safer than injecting insulin because it does not cause the pancreas to create more insulin to be released.

I know I love experimenting with these things and thought this might be helpful to anyone who is uncomfortable using insulin but still wants the anabolic effect of it pwo.

anyone who has used this method please let me know what your results were

L-Leucine definitely has this effect and when taken in bigger doseages prior to a carb meal, works pretty well not only to increase the uptake of the carbs but also the protein synthesis.

I know a company was working on a varient of L-Leucine as a potent GDA but i think they scrapped it for some reason.

yeaaaaa

i would love to listen to his advice

but wen someone full of juice, is recomending a supplement ingredient thats in many of his sponsors products......

its kinda hard to think hes not a little biased ;)

im sure l-leucine works, but unless its dirt cheap i think its easier for me to just use an extra ml of sustanon in my cycles, id probably get better results

and last i checked, nutrex products werent on the discount shelf in my supplement store, and there mass xplosion tastes like overpriced crap

The fact he is taking large amounts of insulin with his leucine probably helps too

I always incorperate bcaa's in a dose that yields 6gms leucine during workout. Turns on anabolic pathways such as m-tor.

I dont know about this part...from what I understand, leucine triggers insulin stored in the pancreas to be released but does not trigger the production of more insulin.

It seems pretty unlikely that L-Leucine would put the body in a state of hypoglycemia, IMO

If you want the effects of insulin do your homework, read as much as you can on the subject, and talk to vet's here on the board. If you educate yourself on insulins dangers, use, and bennifits you will be able to answer your own questions on weather to use insulin or or L-Leucine. Insulin is only dangerous if you don't understand it, or abuse it. I personally was very scared my first time using it, but I was knowledgeable and prepared for it. Once I became comfortable with insulin and figured out what I could take and not take, it became very easy. One of the best things I have in my bag of tricks! Some of the guy's here were very helpful, so use them! Good luck bro, READ, READ, READ, then let us know how its goes.

Proteins most definately can cause an increase in insulin, this has been known for quite some time. Drink a whey shake, and it can raise insulin, along with other proteins. It only takes a slight raise in insulin for it to shuttle nutrients into the cells. An endogenous increase in insulin is that same as exogenous injected...same as testosterone. Try to utilize it to your advantage.

nothing is comparable to the real deal

My thoughts exactly. I wasted enough time my first ten years training with all the "it's just like" "same effects as" bs. Now I just stick with the real deal. All the other stuff was just a waste of time an money to me... This is reminding me of elite fitness in here lol

I personally wouldn't even consider trying L-L either, because I am not against insulin and I have done my research on it. The stuff is great, I have made gains using it, and I have never gone hypo because I eat right around taking it. Also, I live in Canada where Hunalog is cheap (40 bucks compared to 160 at some places in the USA) and it doesn't require a prescription. I have tried both R and Log and prefer Log as it is easier to control

$160 in the US??? Maybe on the black-market from to idiots that don't realize you don't need a script. It's $40 at walmart with no script in the US..

Best way to get benefits of insulin without actually injecting it is carbs + supps that improve insulin sensitivity, need2slin being my favorite supp for that.

Are you talking about HUMALOG? Maybe there is a state or two I am not aware, but in most states (if not all?) it requires a prescription.

Are you thinking of Humulin?

humulin can be obtained without a prescription and has to be readily available to diabetics.

I use Novolog with no prescription (3 vials in the fridge now). To get the pen tho required a prescription so I never tried it, but not the vial. Maybe it's different here, but I've bought it at walmart an walgreens for years. Just walk up to the counter an tell them what I want. Same with the pins. Never once had an issue.

I was working in Florida and went to albertson's pharmacy and Humalog was around 160$ and required a script. I am in Canada now for Christmas and went to Walmart- it is 40$ without a script.

Damn. Albertsons used to have expensive meat too lol. Only 1 left in my city. They've been run out of here along with kroger.
