Are you the most impressive physique at your gym? explain..

No, but I’m up there. I’m in one of the most dense cities in America with IFBB and NPC competitors where I train so I don’t feel too terrible about it. It’s good for the motivation though, when I’ve trained at gyms where I’m clearly the best physique, my motivation slips (that’s 100% on me though).

Sadly, I probably am...top 2-3, anyway. THAT is one sad-ass commentary to how far my gym has fallen off.
When I moved up here, in 2016, my gym had a TON of competitors, and overall really strong dudes. After Covid, the gym's ownership (the non-training 0f the two partners) started pushing low-cost memberships and there has been a steady influx of broccoli-haired, pajama-wearing, shoeless children and now that seems to be really all that joins and the aforementioned serious lifters have all gone elsewhere.

If I'm the Big Fish, then the pond is likely just too polluted.

I am the best physique because my town is a shit hole.

Jesus Christ 6' 225lbs at 6-7%, i am basically nothing.

Have my company here, and my motivation comes from my inner self, internet and the guys from this forum.

Brother, if you take out people who are competing heavyweight at high levels, 6% and 225 lbs puts you in the top .1% of the human population.

We are all constantly comparing ourselves to pro athletes, models, etc.... the general public looks nothing remotely comparable to those of us who are even average at this sport. I am not even close to a lot of you guys, and i still get a ton of stares, crazy looks and compliments from strangers and people i know.

Bodybuilders are worse than hs girls with how much they will pick themselves and each other apart. Ive heard guys in ridiculous shape get body shamed!

I remember when this new gym opened up by my house my son called me up one day and said 'everyone in here is on steroids'. I laughed it off just because I know the stereotypical view on bodybuilders and people who train. My first evening there I realized he wasn't kidding. I've been doing this for MANY years and I have an eye those who are enhanced. I'd say 75% of the people training there, men and women are on some type of PED's. I definitely don't have the best physique in this gym

I find the popular more see and be seen gyms tend to have a higher threshold of people on PEDS. As people there seem to be hoping for attention and support from outside themselves.

The classic physique nationals 2 time second place finisher, his friend, and his wife all left my gym so now I mog everyone in there. It feels bad. Need to find another gym where some guys are much more developed than me.

I mean at least those ones are people you and I can easily identify. I’m more shocked when I’m at the gym and basic Joe Schmoes come up to me and want to talk gear. Firstly, I’m always a bit shocked as that’s some I just don’t discuss openly, unless we have some kind of friendly relationship beforehand. And secondly, I’m shocked at how completely regular lots of these guys are. I had a 22yr old come up to me, tell me he’s on 600mg of Tren and look like fairly beginner-ish. End of my rant

I do agree that after years of doin this, it isss fairly easy to see who is “on something” at most local gyms.

We mostly have heavy (aka fat) Powerlifters and a couple amateur BB's.
At the time I go yes, IM THE BEST!!! LOL (You know, vs. old men and ladies at 6 AM)!!
