Arimidex + Nolvadex together?

Since these anti-e's work through different mechanisms i was under the impression that it was ok to take together. But i have read that Nolv can hinder the effects of Arimidex?

Any one has experience with taking them in combination?

I think a low dose of nolva is good to take with anti-e's. Anti e's will not be as good at preventing gyno as nolvadex, so if thats a concern use more nolva. I personally like aromasin as my anti-e and i'll throw in 10mg nolvadex ED to help keep lipids in check. If im not mistaken, nolvadex blocks estrogen receptors in the chest area where an anti-e lowers overall total body estrogen, so I dont see how one would hinder the other.

Whats the purpose of combining them? Arimidex alone will work perfectly fine.

Combining nolvadex and arimidex will just about shut down all estrogen completely...not a good thing

if you never plan to compete or you are not gyno prone


for me competeing and gyno prone......this two together are a must!

Some people say that becuase adex is bad on you lipid profile that you can add in the nolva for a booster in that area. But i also heard around that adex and nolva..One of them can hinder (lessen) the effectivenss of the other. Just my 3 cents

If gyno is an issue then you must use nolvadex. You cant just use adex and expect no flare ups. If your estro is too high and your holding water,etc.. you will need an AI. So I dont see why both isnt ok.

GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration with tamoxifen may decrease the plasma concentrations of anastrozole. The mechanism of interaction has not been described. In one clinical trial, coadministration of tamoxifen (20 mg/day) and anastrozole (1 mg/day) in breast cancer patients resulted in decreased anastrozole plasma concentration by 27% compared to administration of anastrozole alone. In addition, at a median follow-up of 33 months, the combination did not demonstrate any efficacy benefit over tamoxifen therapy alone in all patients as well as in the hormone receptor-positive subpopulation, and this treatment arm was discontinued from the trial. The pharmacokinetics of tamoxifen and its pharmacologically active N-desmethyl metabolite were not affected.
MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of tamoxifen and anastrozole should be avoided

Wow thats crazy. At least the tamox effects still stay the same. Maybe if you take your tamox one day and the adex the next and repeat, it may cause a lower % of adex to diminish. So 1mg is a ton of adex so im assuming if you took 20mg of nolvadex with .5mg adex it woudnt be %27 it may be lower. Either way, looks like if your gonna add nolvadex you may wann up your adex dose by another 10-15% or so to play it safe.
