Looking to plan a last minute trip to go. I know the expo is $15 and the finals on Saturday for the cheap seats is $50. Is everything else free? What’s a good place to stay that isn’t ghetto. Haven’t been to Columbus in about 10 years

That would be a good idea to pick up that room. From what I usually hear, all of the hotels are sold out months in advance. At least the nice ones are.

You're not getting anything close to the convention center at a reasonable price, but columbus is very modern and its easy to get from point A to B. No real 'ghetto' just stay north of the brewery distract.

I may just be a cheap-ass, but the last time I went I stayed at a cheap (maybe $55 a night) Red Roof Inn Plus maybe 20 miles outside of the city. Drove in daily and paid for parking, and I believe one day I just took Uber. If you're not intimately involved in the events (competing, rep for a booth, etc.), I would much rather stay outside of Columbus and use the extra $ for buying goodies at the expo.

But I know some of you gents do everything as classy as possible, so to each his own

You can get an average hotel for $100-$120 A night. Within 15 minutes

There is usually one by the fairgrounds for $160ish and it's 2 minutes away. There is nothing around there as far as food, stores etc.

I would try to find a place with an area that has a Giant Eagle Market District or places with healthy food. So many good restaurants down there. There is Bakersfield which is tex mex and Happy Greek right on High St. That is walking distance from the expo. Not really healthy, but just a thought

I like to get Cafe Istanbul. There are a few of those down there

But go down there to Schmidt's for dinner...if you want to bloat on German food and beer.
