There is a conspiracy theory which suggests that arnie was the result of some mad german science experiment during WWII to create 'the ultimate soldier'. I'm not going to speculate on this one way or the other, but thought I'd throw it into the mix anyway.

Not to affend anyone on this but during the war and before german
scientists did alot of experments with all kinds of drugs
steroids was one. They used D-bol to bulk up prisoners
anyway when the allies and russians finally
won the war instead of putting these scientists on trial, they split
em up between both countries and this is where alot of our pain
meds, antibiotics and so forth came from. Not all but alot.
They were ahead of there time. I'm sure some will disagree, and
again I don't mean to affend the German people here. War is war
and what happened happened everywhere. I don't know the
specifics on this but I'm pretty sure this was all hush hush back then.

I dont know, but let me ask you: How many lifes steroids safe??? People with debilitating illneses, Post rehabilitation, Injures, people in Hospital beds, enjoys teh benefits of as, people that needs testosteron eather to help testosterone levels or rejuveation, senior citizens....

If the US could figure a way to TAX the hell out of AS then they would be legal!!! Alcohol and Tobacco kill more people per day and year then any other drug out there but since they can tax it at a very high rate and they make money then they could care less. Remember the US brought most of the drugs into the states to hurt certain class of people in the early years, then it went sour and now it is illegal.....go figure the US f'd something else up

When did they first become illegal?

Technically they have never been legal. From the beginning they have been FDA regulated drugs which require prescriptions. However, possession of medication without a prescription is not considered a primary enforcement activity meaning that the authorities do not actively attempt to build cases against people for it alone.

As FDA approved medications they were also allowed to be prescribed for off-label purposes by any doctor. That started to change on November 18, 1988 when congress passed legislation making it a federal crime to possess steroids with intent to distribute without a valid medical prescription. Then again on November 29, 1990 Congress passed the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990 which classified steroids as a Schedule III substance under the Controlled Substance Act which made the mere possession and use of steroids a felony under federal law.

Did you see Arnolds name brought up in my thread.
I was stating the origin steroids. Where they were originally
developed and the purpose for use back then. By the way,
Arnold is around 60 and his father was an officer for the Austrian
army At that time So I'm well aware.

Back in the seventies there was a lot of confussion on the legal
aspects of steroids. I thought it was like posession was not illegal
but distra. was like you said without a script. Never got into it then
juice was hard to find in my area.

How unhealthy are steroids for adult males?

Is cheating at sports alright?

It seems like the media only wants do discuss the aspects of cheating, and nothing else. A shame really.

I believe Steroids are HEALTHY for older adult males, prostate profiles (PSA)
show it...the less testosterone in an older male, the more likley they are to aquire benign prostate hyperplasia, and, or prostate cancer.

You quoted bodyuk in your post so Arnold's name appeared in YOUR post. You denied Arnold's name being in your post, but it was there in the quote from bodyuk. You didn't mention Arnold's name yourself but you quoted bodyuk so Arnold's name was in YOUR post. Is this too hard for you to understand? I really don't see why you are making such a big deal about this anyway. Is there any point besides acting like a jack ass?

Lets not forget Arnold probably started using at 17 or 18 years old (thats what i assume from pics ive seen, MAYBE 16 years old) and he was living in Austria at that time where steroids were legal. If they became illegal in 1976, as was stated up above, that was at the end of Arnolds career! Started possibly earlier. According to former Flex editor Rick Wayne Arnold sold him Dbol in Austria and Arnold was 17 at the time. Arnold had told him he'd been on them a couple of years already.
