Arthritis in shoulder

Well went to the ortho today. Had xrays today and go back next week for an mri. Told me I had one of the worst cases of arthritis he had seen in my left shoulder. The pain has been bad but not what I expected. Its funny that I can press with it and it doesn't hurt doing any movements but hurts really bad all other times. I'm pretty much on all natural supps that I could think of being on for arthritis. Tumeric, msm, glucosamine etc. I am using ice and heat and using an estim daily. I haven't used any NSAIDS yet. But the pain is so bad I may have to try some low doses. Any other recommendations? I will know more after my mri next week. Also does anyone belive NSAIDS will limit gains? I know the deal with the protein synthesis. But wasn't sure if that effected "enhanced" athletes?? Thanks

This happened to me. Turned out I had broken my shoulder at some point in my life and didn't know it and it healed badly, massive arthritus developed. I didn't feel it lifting, but it hurt all other times. I got a full shoulder replacement and never looked back. It's 99% and no pain ever.

I’ve had two shoulder surgeries. I had went two years with a rotator cuff tear after being told it was just arthritis. My advice is to stay on top of prehab and mobility before it becomes rehab from a serious injury.

Yeah he said he felt I had an injury in the past and didn't realize it. He said it was really bad and I would eventually need a shoulder replacement.

You should look into TB500 and BPC150. It works wonders for healing and regeneration. Google it or search on PM and I am sure you will find a ron if stuff.

Stay away from cortisone shots.

You can also look into PRP.

What did you guys do for the pain? I have a script for tramadol. I use it but it doesn't seem to help much unless I take around 200 to 400mg ibuprofen with it. I just hate taking nsaids like that. I wish I had never read those stupid protein synthesis studies. :)

I Haber military buddies with a ton of ear injuries and they use Kratom for thei Pain. Not sure if I can say that on here. If not I apologize. But for some it’s a great supplement for anxiety, pain, sleep etc.

OK. Just wondering. I recently figured out doing delt injections was causing a lot of my shoulder pain. I think the mast I was using was the main culprit. It was also worse when I used a one inch pin vs. Using a 5/8 inch pin. When I switched to doing only glute and quad injects, my shoulder pain was greatly diminished in a couple weeks.

Xrays will look at bone. He would see arthritic bone and no tissue. Xrays Dont pic up muscle tissue etc. So my answer would be no. BUT, seek out some help from maybe an ART specialist, NMT practitioners etc to see if some manual therapy to relieve scar tissue and mob the joint helps. Who knows right!

Do you think a low dose nsaid with my tramadol would have a negative impact on growth? It seems to be the only way to ease the pain sometimes.

No. But NSAIDs do jack shit except cause tons of liver stress and gut inflation. I am telling you, find some TB and BPC. It’s not hard to find or use. Educate yourself as I feel it may and will help you recover a bit. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm aware of the theory behind NSAIDS limiting gains but in my personal experience, it doesn't matter one bit. ESPECIALLY if they help you train harder due to masking pain. (not something I want to recommend though just to be clear)

Well I thought about it and im going to take them. I can either be in pain all the time or not and of course I would rather not. It is preventing me from doing normal activities. I'm gonna go with the lowest dose that helps.
