Arthritis Remedies?

Over the last couple of years I've developed arthritis in my right hand. Thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows of any remedies that work.

It's painful on the joint where the middle finger attaches to the hand. Seems to hurt more during the winter.

Excel, have you thought about acupuncture? I've had needles for a variety of muscle and joint pains and they always help me quite dramatically. My father swears by glucosamine. He lifts, golfs, etc and won't miss a day of glucosamine with vitamin c.

Ever try DMSO??

Actually, I don't think that any studies have shown that DMSO has a good effect, the latest compound to try is its daughter derivative, MSM (which stands for methylsulfonylmethane). You have to get medical grade DMSO from a doctor, but can get MSM OTC. Careful with combining it with any blood thinners and beware, it can smell FUNNY! Please let me know what you go with.

hardasschic what would be the difference between 99.996% pure DMSO and medical grade DMSO??


And there are many studies that show that DMSO has had positive results with arthritis and other joint pain but there has been research that reports the contrary. It has never been proven one way or the other. It is one of those controversial topics.

In any event, I know alot of people who have used DMSO for joint pain and it has helped.

Hey Xcel not sure about some remedies but my grandma used to say green tea is good for arthritis. I get some aches and pains from work all day and vioxx is a good releiver but never could get myself to drink that stuff. MM

OKAY......I HAVE USED DMSO...

IN MY PARTICULAR CASE IT DID HELP.......MADE MY BREATH OR MOUTH TASTE LIKE AN OLD TIRE THOUGH.

Fish oil.
If I could have only one supplement, that would be it.

Currently taking ~4g MSM ED and 3 caps of green tea extract. Have taken as much MSM as 8g ED. Had a reaction to high amount of glucosamine when I used it a while back.

May give the fish oil and DMSO a try - thanks.
