Thank you for your message. I could never have imagined this, and it was so unexpected. We'd always felt we'd known each other for many lifetimes before. Having had so much in common, the love of this lifestyle, the acceptance of each other as we were, and all our future ahead... seems so cruel to have had it and then have it taken away.
I wish for everyone who reads this post to appreciate their life. One can truly not know if its their last day.... so make your choices accordingly, to treat your life as a privilege
11sh11,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine the pain you must be feeling
now but please know that time will do its magic and you will eventually,
sometime down this dark and lonely road, start to feel better. Yes, it is
cruel and not fair, but asteelz will always, in some way, be with you.
Nobody can take those wonderful memories away.
Unfortunately, life is a continuous series of losses. How we seek to spend
our time may depend on how much time we perceive ourselves to have.
When you are young and healthy, you believe you will live forever. You
do not worry about losing any of your capabilities. People tell you "the world
is your oyster, "the sky is the limit," and so on. And you are willing to delay
gratification, to invest years, for example, in gaining skills and resources
for a brighter future. But as your horizons contract, when you see the future
ahead of you as finite and uncertain, your focus shifts to the here and now,
to everyday pleasures and the people closest to you.
You are so right. No one can truly not know if it’s their last day so we hope to,
try to, make our choices accordingly, and to treat life as a privilege.
Asteelz brought so much to this board. He was such a kind and giving person.
Humble, never complained about how many times we ask the same old stupid
questions. I think in many way we took him for granted, knew he would always
there for us, to help and answer questions. And we were never disappointed.
He was like a human encyclopedia . . . such a wealth of knowledge. And he
never entered into the petty mindless gossip or said a bad word about anybody.
Definitely on of a kind. He will truly be missed.
It was a privilege having his with us and I am glad you had him in your life.
