Asthma relief and EPO

If EPO increases RBC and asthma, through tightening of airways and mucus production, reduces respiration ability I wondered what beneficial EPO -- if any -- might have on asthma. The short answer is some. Apparently it can have a beneficial effect by reducing inflammation though how it does so is unclear.

For those of you with asthma who've taken EPO, have you noticed any relief? It's my belief that if your blood can carry more oxygen and you already have airway/lung constriction, surely this must improve one's ability to move oxygen, yes? Not saying it will eliminate constriction, but if each breath works a bit better then I can't imagine it'd hurt.

We found that EPO ameliorated histological changes of chronic murine model of asthma. Further studies are needed to evaluate the efficacy of EPO in the treatment of asthma.

My experience with EPO is that
When I go jogging around my neighborhood it's like I'm running from the cops, my speed is much faster
This is anecdotal but my recovery is much better and my joints tend to last longer without injury

 

[Performance Based]

Good afternoon @SWOLNUTZ (username gave me a bit of a chuckle)

I have relatively extensive experience utilizing EPO for various different events paired with different anabolics.

Few things - EPO for me illicits no change in slow steady state cardiovascular events. I will say this till I am blue in the face - for performance metrics EPOs primarily value is in its ability to buffer lactate.

I get a higher crit increase supplementing iron with low dose anabolics than I do a high dose EPO cycle without iron supplementation.

Now to the study - I have dietary induced asthma. I am allergic to sesame oil and many soy products. I’m an endurance athlete however so Vietnamese and sushi are bi-daily meals for me (literally I had sushi twice today and a vermicelli noodle bowl).

I have no measurable difference in my need for my albuterol puffer while on or off EPO.

I have never noticed a difference either in my pleural cavities latency starting an event with EPO supplementation. I have noticed with lower dosages of aromatizing compounds however.
