I can get neurotic when it comes to this kind of stuff so bear with me.

I sleep in the fetal position with a pillow folded over usually on my right side the entire night.

For some stupid reason, I'm getting this feeling that my right shoulder, and forearm are somehow losing a tiny amount of size and/or looking less pumped throughout the day. I know I have more separation in my left shoulder for sure.

I'm not even that large though; 200-210 lbs.

Is this in my head, and is there any pillow/sleep recommendations you guys use?

You have a lot of free time to think about things like this....don't you?

There is truth in this. Dante posted about it before. Hopefully he will chime in. If I remember correctly it's a nerve issue.

Could also be unpadded back squats putting pressure on your nerves at c5,c6.

I hate those pads, but after seeing my x rays I always use one.

Stretching the pecs, rotator cuff? and bicep on that side to reverse the position youve been putting yourself in can be helpful. Youre getting a forward rotation and shortening of those muscles on the favored side. This will in turn give you a difference visually, and it will also cause compression of the brachial plexus. Improper nerve and musculature dynamics due to repeated poor posture and misallignment will cause dysfunction of those muscle groups

Any reason you do not sleep in a different position or changed which side of the bed you sleep on? I often do just to even things out.

Sleep on back: Snore, and just Uncomfortable.

Sleep on Stomach: Neck fucked up in the morning unless head is hanging off bed

I'm researching good pillows, and perhaps even a new mattress. Mines old as hell too.

I just got a pillow that is similar to a temper pedic. It is tall and when I sleep on my shoulder it feels amazing how my neck is lined up compared to any other pillow Ive used. It also feels better on the shoulder that I am sleeping on and has made a big difference in how much more comfortable it is to sleep like that. How is your pillow situation? Is it tall enough?

I have never known any one that switches from an old mattress to a new one that said it did nothing. And perhaps you could try sleeping on your other side to even out the load on your spine and help with blood flow from always compressing one side.

You're pinching the nerve at night while sleeping causing it to not fire on that side. I've had two c6-c7 injuries over the years causing atrophy both times on different sides. It's basically the Dennis Wolf injury but you have it at a much less extent by simply causing those disks to pinch the nerve. Sleeping on your back will help and means you may require a CPAP. Helped me.

Bump for Dante

I'm having this same issue with my right side.

I think it has something to do with restricted blood flow , I remember reading something about that years ago.

Can you sleep on the opposite side??

I toss back and forth all night , I prefer to sleep on my left side which is supposed to be better for your stomach but I have ulcers on that side so sometimes I get indigestion from it so I roll over to the right and cuddle the wife till I get hot or catch wood and she elbows me then back you my left
