B4 bed, food or shake?

Shake or food as the last meal B4 bed?

My last meal of the day is at 1130pm. At that time I am super lazy and really not feeling to eat anything. But I do feel for a nice protein shake . What would your choice be? On my diet I have set for that meal 8 egg whites, 1 whole egg, and depending on day 200gr of potatoes or no carbs.....
This debate has been going on forever......does drinking a protein shake (with same macros as the meal) really makes a big difference? Would love to hear people opinion....
 
if trying to gain size - protein shake
if trying to become lean - meal


that's what I do


ease of getting in calories with drinking them, vs. satiety with eating them
 
Why not a casein protein shake or some Greek yogurt with it?
 
I almost always do a hybrid.

I mix up a bowl of protein powder, carb powder, A2 milk into a pudding then then throw in stuff like Belvita breakfast biscuits, almond butter, maybe a Nature's Valley granola bar. Let it sit in the fridge or freezer for 30 minutes then chow down. Kind of a shake but easier to digest than a solid food meal. especially when you've already put own 5,000-6,000 calories for the day.
 
Oatmeal with a couple scoops of protein and a big spoon of cottage cheese.

I love cream of wheat for this. Mixing in some protein powder and PB and whatever else. So good.
 
I like a crate of egg whites cooked, scoop of chocolate casien and Greek yogurt mixed in a bowl. Top with fruit, honey, or almond butter/walnuts for extra calories
 
To be honest I should only have my shake but I get the late night munchies and it's never just a shake. It ends up being a shake, a PB&J sandwich, some beef jerky and a pear or apple....or sometimes both.
Sometimes I have the same problem at night. Been good all day, perfect diet and after the night protein shake I get crazy and attack the peanut butter jar , the other night I eat 3 anabars after the egg whites🙈.....that's exactly how to fuck up a perfect diet day.....
