Back injury

So I was deadlifting today...And I got cocky. I ended up doing 15lbs more than I'd ever done before and I went to try and hit 5 more lbs bc the previous lift went up so easily and well something in the left lower side of my back basically felt like it was ripping / popping. I dropped the weight asap and i had very little pain. I'm about 30 minutes out from this incident now and it hurts a little but not bad. Do you guys think if I'd torn a muscle it would have hurt really bad when it happened? I've never seriously injured anything in one large movement like that except my knee but that was from a twisting / torquing injury and I definately felt that immediately. It's on the outside of the muscles that run along the spine in my lower back that it hurts a little, so I'm thinking maybe there is some separation between my obliques and lower back muscles now or something? Anyways I'm sure I'll know tommorrow how badly I've injured myself but I'm freaking out because lower back injury or any injury can just set you back so far. :(
 
Been there many times from when I was powerlifting. My two cents is that you may still have torn something or at least pulled it to the point of a minor tear. You may feel it more in the am after your body cools down 100%, remember your still warmed from lifting. I would suggest Ice if your still in that 1 hour range. If not wet heat 10-20 mins at a time. Also Advil as it is a anti inflammatory. If your in pain the Tylenol and I would switch off 200mg advil then two hours later one tylenol. Rest your lower back and take some time to let it heal, you may not be in pain but that does not mean you did not pull or minor tear the muscle. If it is bruised then you most likely tore it.
