Ok! This is how I s used to train all the time... Back and Bi's and Chest and Tri's... Now I am kinda at a sticking point where I feel My arms need individual attention! I'm not sure how everyone incorporates there arm training during the week...But I feel like If I do Back and Bi's and Chest/Tri and have an arm day i will be overtraining my arms because I already stress the shit out my arms when doing chest and Back as my secondary muscle..... How do you approach changing your arm work out and how do you work them, once a week or twice week? Let the discussion begin...

...this will be determand by you. what works for me might not for you.

that being said, i do two days of arms one day hitting big muscle groups from every angle possibil.and one day of focusing the small and stabilizersmall muscle groups, still incorparating the big groups. and i t works great. i used to hit arms once a week, they are 18 inches,THEY WILL NOT GET ANY BIGGER this is my peak. they will not grow any more. .....i am sharing with you. not saying my way is the right, or wrong.....the best answer here is you. what feels right, good to you, is what will work best.good luck

Actually everytime I deviate from the old chest/tris, back/bis routine, I lose size in my arms and they just don't seem as full. I also end up getting aches and pains in my elbows and forearms after a few weeks of having just an arm day.

i like to do chest/tri then back/bis in the begining of the week then at the end of the week either get in an arms day or maybe just pik one thats lagging

then after a couple weeks ill switch it up to just arms one day/legs/off/back,chest just to switch it up

works great for me

This worked great for me, as soon as i started doing it my arms grew about 1 1/4 inches in a year.
bi's/tri's supersetted together with no rest between sets and adding 5 lb to each exersize every week. eg
EZ-bar curls/Skull crushers- no rest between the curls and skull crushers, however i will rest between that and lets say close grips and hammer curls but once i start the close grip and hammer, theres no rest between sets. the pump is incredible and ive been stretching until its downright painful at the end of my workout.
i noticed that with this i only do 3 BRUTAL sets per exersize and 3 to 4 different exersizes stopping usually 1 rep short of total failure on each set. i ONLY do this once a week. i found out that any more and you cant recover.
this worked for me but for me it just seems to feel right. you have nothing to lose by trying something new out.

Now why won't your arms get any bigger? I'm sure there is away around this unless you don't want your arms to get any bigger?

I have found that if I train bi's on back day and tri's on chest day I don't have enough left to train my bi's and tri's effectively...They are somewhat burned out by doing back and chest...I train arms separately for just that reason

at this point i think it is humanly impossible. then again, maybe, just maybe if i stop cardio i can gain a little weight , then i might have a chance.

honestly i would love to have bigger arms , but my body must gain weight to match the big arms.

i can not imagine having bigger arms then this without gaining weight and having a body to match.but i am eager to gain weight. matter fact, my goal is to be 200lbs @ 7 maybe 8 % B.F.

..me too , arms separately works best.

try this

if you work back hard you don't have enough left to work bis properly same with chest before tris, so work back and tris then another day do chest and bis. this has worked for me for many years.

whats REALLY going to build your tri's............adding 40lbs to your bench or 20lbs to your pushdowns.

same goes for back add 40lbs to your bent row then measure your pipes.

I have tried doing back/bi's and chest/tri's, but always got a crappy arm workout after breaking them down on big movements.

Here recently I started doing chest/bi's and back/tri's, so far so good. I'm going to stick with this for a while then eventually switch it up, but it's worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

After training my chest and back my arms are shot. I do however try to squeeze in a couple of iso movements or drop sets to polish them off.

I also dedicate a extra day to work them arms seperately, since they are my weaker body parts. Like Egde250 mentioned, getting that bar weight up will definitely beef up those arms...it all about how you want to get there.

Feel the same way. After heavy benching and incline I can't subject
my tri's to max load like I want. Same with biceps. Another reason
I have an arm day is I can pump more blood to the area.

I train chest and back together so by the time Im done with all my pressing and back work, my arms are done. So I do arm work on leg day.

I agree

I definitly agree with this. Also there is a limit to how much can be curled or skullcrushed, but no limit to benchor rows/deadlifts. I find after doing a heavy back workout it takes very little to fry biceps, maybee 5-10min work.

while its true that the heavy compound movements will bring on a lot of size, the problem is that while your arms got bigger from adding the extra pounds on bench and rows, your chest and back grew too. so your arms are still going to be out of proportion.

ive thought of doing it that way, but then it kinda fuks up your routine. for instance you would have to work out chest and bis at the begining of the week and back and tris at the end so you can give your try a rest since they were partially worked out already..doing it this way kinda screws up my workout regime.
