Hi all,

I thought this might be fun for some of you who know me from way back. My last serious show was the 1989 teenage nationals. I started working for Lou Zwick as a writer and dropped my competitive aspirations for other career choices. Fast forward 30 years and I am white collar technology manager in finance.

I have been living in Japan now for 11 years and over all these decades have never stopped training. I have gotten older, but kept pushing hard relentlessly because I love it.

This year Hide Yamagishi created Japan's first IFBB pro show and first IFBB pro qualifier. I decided to go for it. Long story short I won the overall at a qualifier, beating guys 1/2 my age.

Went into the IFBB show feeling good, got food poisioning backstage, but still did well and had a great time. Met up with the overall winner and instagram contact Lui Chien and Milos. I took 4th out of 11 in a very tough light heavy class.

Looking to compete again in 2019, bring my legs back, and try some different prep methods.

Good Job!

Congratulations you look awesome brother

Nice job man! Were the teen nationals in 89 in Daytona beach? I was in the crowd for that one if so...

Holy shit good to have you back brother!! Hope all is well on your end of the world!

welcome back

Hey Hawkmoon,

Nice to see you posting again. Been way too long.

You look great as usual. Guys and gals . . . this man is the real deal.
Crazy unlimited potential, beautiful lines and shape. Could have been
one of the best. And he is a nice person too.

Have fun, be safe and please keep us in-the-loop as you progress.
Hope you and your wife are well and still enjoying Japan.

Cheers,
alfresco

I was following that show on line.. I didn't know that was you lol.. I was thinking " who's the Caucasian ??" Lol.. Good to hear from Ya on the board again.. Congrats..

Congrats on your comeback. Must feel good.

I would like to see bigger pictures.

So, you won your pro card, I'm sorry, I did not understand well.

Great to see you back and going at it again. Best of luck to you. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

I remember you from when I first started posting here in 2011. Glad you're still alive and kicking

Thanks a lot for all the kind words guys.

It was good to have a competitive goal again, and fun to be on stage. Made a lot of new friends.

Even at my age I still manage to carry some decent muscle, though I need to give my legs special attention over the next few month before I diet again. I lost several inches in the thighs over the years.. :(

Next year Hide and Iris Kyle are having a pro Qualifier in May and the November show is now an Amateur Olympia. Don't know if I want to push myself that hard as it was tough on my body and made my daily life a bit of a struggle. I did a Palumbo style diet as I knew low carb worked best for me, and it did but the lethargy was tough. I had to make 90kg and needed a dose of diuretics to slip down to 87kg for the Friday weigh in.

There are videos up now.
Please excuse the legs (trying to bring them back) and the stomach. I gave myself food poisoning before the show by eating spoiled rice and was filling up with gas and giving me horrible sulfur burps! Ended up vomiting in the night after the show, first time since I was a kid. Lesson learned..dry foods only.

1989 was in New Jersey. Same year Aceto did the Collegiate. ;)

Thanks so much for the kind words as always.
I had a lot of support from good friends and my wife of course.
Amusingly enough I was the only guy from Japan that made the top 5. Everyone else was Korean or Cantonese.

Hope you are having a great holiday season. Apologies for lack of pics but the wife was competing the same day! ;)

Congrats on the great showing. I really like the GoT theme along with your good posing. I can see what you are talking about with your midsection, that is really unfortunate what happened with the spoiled rice. I would have been so upset, but you looked so calm and cool up there especially considering it had been so long since you were on stage. You calves look really good and full!
