Here is my story.

Started getting the dreaded friar tuck in my mid-20's. Tried Rogaine, Topeka, etc to cover it up.

Even tried the dreaded HCM, but the was a waste of money which I wish I could have back. But do my oily scalp I just shaved my head and have been doing it ever since.

If your young and you've just started losing your hair there are what I would say "Band-Aid's". Propecia, Rogaine, Avacore.

I am thinning slightly, but have seen that stop and some decent re-thickening and regrowth off the following protocol:

Dutasteride .25mg EOD (low dose)
Rogaine 5% FOAM 2x per day
Nizoral 2% shampoo 5 x per week
MSM 3000mg daily
Biotin 5000mg daily

Remember, anti DHT drugs will only work to combat steroids which are reduced to DHT thru the 5A reductase enzymes (like Test). Finasteride blocks one and Dutasteride blocks both enzymes. I use the smallest effective dose of Dutasteride, because I DO NOT want to eliminate ALL DHT from my system!!!!

ROGAINE helps with regrowth and is thought to interfere with TGF Beta to help regrow some lost hair.

Nizoral shampoo is a decent anti androgen that works topically to block the effects of all androgens (not just DHT) in the scalp locally.

That is the BIG 3 and it will help prolong your hair, but it will go with time!!!!

I don’t want you to think I’m a totally cruel bastard…which you might believe from reading what I posted to your thread above. Believe me I know how you feel…Been there…How old are you? Time seems to heal those discomforting feelings of thinning hair. If I were to do it again, I would take all the wasted time of worrying about the hair loss and put it forth to time and energy of pumping Iron and give everyone a look at what I’ve built instead of what I have lost.

I find it funny when I see guys going nuts over this shit. Girls LOVE shaved heads brother, trust me. Unless your head is shaped like a fucking chestnut, when the time comes just shave it. Its so damn comfortable and easy.

topical spironolactone is a must if your using gear and want t save yer hair. It sis an antiandrogen.

A combination of the following are proven by science and studies to work. If your using deca oftren you have to use spironalactone. I must have posted this info for the 100 time.

I never post here but I feel your pain. I am a lot older than you and I went through the same thing. I chose not to shave my head...I wanted hair...so I found a solution that worked very well.

Hair transplant...if done by the very best WILL give you your hair back. The problem is that most places that do this are not very good. Stay the fuck away from places like Bosley! IMHO it is very important to use techniques that insure that all of the harvested hair will regrow new hair...because you have a limited amount from which to harvest.

Another problem is that some of the best doctors in the field don't do the procedures themselves...they have proteges that do the work.

The most qualified doctor IMHO is Dr. Walter Unger. He is considered THE godfather of many of the techniques used today...he has written the primary medical textbook on hair transplantation...his CV is pretty impressive...he even was involved in hair cloning experiments which showed promise.

He does all of the work himself and spends the entire day only on that one patient...his offices are in Toronto and in NY on Park Avenue. Now the bad news is he is expensive. Maybe $12k to $16k per session...if you are just thinning one session is fine. Again IMHO he is the best and a lot of celebs have gone to him.

You can learn a lot about Hair Transplantation at his website and use it to find a good doctor. He doesn't solicit clients at all...usually there is a 4 to 6 month wait just to get an appointment. His site is: **broken link removed**

I know this is an expensive solution BUT it worked well for me and others and now I don't worry about shedding...it just doesn't happen and I have a head of hair.

I have researched the crap out of this topic and never came across his name as being one of the best doctors. He is not in the top 10 doctors that I came across and those prices outrageous unless he did 2,000 FUE.

Here are some of the best doctors in the world at the moment. You have to keep in mind some only do Traditional Strip Excision vs Follicle Unit Extraction Transplantation. The FUE is what you want, but more expensive. DON’T BE AFRAID TO TRAVEL FOR THE POCEDURE IT MAY BE THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE RESULTS YOU WANT BY A GOOD DOC.

There are some other good docs also, but I just cant list them all. These are the ones after countless hours on various balding and hair sites that a general consensus apperaed to be the best after I researched.
