ill just get to the point....who has done/does both..which do you prefer or like beter and why

Yates row. You can pull more weight and it really hits the rear delts like nothing else. both are good by I would personally go with yates

I personally feel very, very weak with an underhand grip. If that's what you're referring to as a Yates row, I'd skip it. He did! After tearing his bicep, he went to an overhand grip. It's not a magic row.

Take a look at Mountaindog's videos on youtube. Do you see him using fancy grips? NOPE. He uses different angles of pulling. For grip, you want the maximal amount of pulling ability.

I like two hand overhand with straps. Angle wise I like to be a bit more upright then the traditional row and pull bar to belly. That said I think 1 arm db rows are better then barbell versions.

I have a hard time with under handed grips. It kills my wrists every time. If I am doing a straight bar then it will be over hand. But I do realize you need to attack the muscle from different angles. So for this reason I do use a under hand approach BUT I use dumbbells when I do this. Allows my wrists to my move independent of each other, as supposed to being locked in by a straight bar. (it works for me)
