Ok so what do you think is a healthier choice for us looking to put on lean muscle and reap the health benefits of beef?

85% 15 % grass fed beef

95% 5% laura lens beef (not grass fed)

The grass fed beef is obviously healthier.
The other beef is obvioiusly leaner.

Ground beef is cool because the fat is rendered and easy to remove if you want to make it "leaner." However, the grass fed beef fat is healthy so getting rid of it may be a waste of money.

I guess use whatever fits your macros and budget.

It's mainly the fats in the grass fed beef that make it good for health. You need good fats for optimal health. So if it's a question of health go with that. For lean muscle gains it could be both it just depends what you eat the rest of the day.

Grass fed any day of the week.

I agree with some of your comment. Go with whatever your budget allows. I've been eating a lot of grass fed beef lately.

Why is grass fed that much better? Are the macros the same as well, like protein and fat per ounce ext? With as much food as we eat, I just can't spend the extra coin on it but would like too.

Cows natural diet is grass. That's why they have 9 stomachs to digest the grass. Non grass fed cows are fed an all grain diet. (Not a natural diet for cows). Therefore the corn feed cows eat create an unhealthy balance of omega 6's in the cows adipose tissue.

Same concept with the farm raised salmon and other ocean dwelling fish.

I enjoy the luxury of my father in law having a small farm. He, my brother in law, and myself pool our funds and buy at the cattle sale. Between that and breeding a few, we have grass fed/finished beef that we split between us. I get my eggs from them, and we always have venison and wild turkey put away. We all grow pretty large gardens on the property as well.
