Yes that does seem to be what they do.

But how can you go through grueling workouts but struggle to tie your shoes? This makes no sense to me at ALL.

Bubba, its not that tying your shoes is hard, it is nothing. Just the way you think it.... what's hard is getting your give fucking body bent over that far and keeping it in that position long enough to actually accomplish tying your shoes. Lol.

I feel you completely, I have the toughest time clipping my toe nails. I actually have to take a knee, twist the knee of the foot I am clipping inward toward the knee, and then use the arm dangling on that side to reach down there and clip. Ha ha ha! It is absurd, it winds me slightly because I have to hold my breathe to get the outside two toes. Now I don't get winded too bad on two flights of stairs at all.... but three or four flights and I am noticeably breathing heavily for a few minutes. My squat is at the 500 range. I am winded for a good minute in between every set and am pouring sweat from set two til the end of my workout.

But fuck if that's not fun. It kind of sucks having to wear only certain brands and not being able to find a half ass decent hoodie.... but fuck it dude. That's what I'm here for man. That is what I wake up thinking about, that is the role I love while I am stuffing piece after piece of god forsaken chicken in my mouth throughout the day... that is why I blast my slin and have a bland, controlled diet for four hours every night for week after week... that is why mother fuckers look over and shake their heads while me and my partner are lifting.... I love this shit, it is why I am. I love every second of the bullshit that comes along with being way too fucking big for my 5'8" frame. And frankly I am a little disappointed in you OP. Tisk Tisk Tisk.... if you don't like being big, hit the lower end of the dumbell rack for sets of seven and go to kfc for dinner! Ha ha ha ha!

I thoroughly enjoy this shit. If you are capable of being 260, you should be smiling all the fuckin time. Thank God for blessing you with magnificent genetics and eat some chicken and hit the squat rack.

It has nothing to do with being muscle-bound, it has to do with being heavy. Which I guess is just semantics.

I used to be very fat, 235 pounds, and everything you're describing is exactly what shit was like for me.

Yeah, I thought you were totally missing it bro! I used to weigh 315 all fat. Never was it as hard to cut my toe nails as it is now at the weight I am. It prob has a lot more to do with not being flexible at all. I should prob hire some bad ass little blonde trainer to stretch me out three or four times a week. I have been heavy both ways man, In my own personal experience, it has everything to do with being muscle bound.

Okay. I've only been heavy one way. So I retract my statement. Perhaps it's a lot worse when the weight is muscle.
 
Bro you hit it on the head! I'm 5'9 and in good shape at 270 and everyday things are pretty tough... even walking down stairs I feel heavy. Before everyone jumps on that, yes I can squat 500 for 10, but that's warmed up, not cold like I am walking down the stairs. Getting in and out of cars is tough. Getting shoes on I break a sweat and I ALWAYS breath heavy. Clothes shopping is a weekend endeavor for a pair of jeans that can be altered to fit and a shirt. My hands and feet are swollen from the GH. Eating is near constant during my waking hours, but hopefully my next show will make it all worth it.
On a side note I went out last night with my girl for a friends Bday party. Were all bodybuilders or figure type girls, but I'm definately the biggest. The way crowds part for me is pretty comical. When I bump into people and apologize, they still have this bit of fear fore some reason even though I'm overly friendly. A lot of the girls love it. I walked past a couple bartenders and was trying to squeeze in to give them room to pass. One had her hands up and brushed my chest and abs and stopped and grabbed my arm and says to her friend "holy shit this guy has an amazing hard body, you have to feel this", then as I blush and say thank you she says "you're fucking hot, come visit me". Yes it was 40* and I was still sweating in a too small 3xl shirt, but that was a huge ego boost to keep me on track!
Every girl in the group wanted me to escort them to the bathroom b/c everyone was so quick to make room for me.

I think its a lot of the flexibility. My boss is trying to teach me how to play golf right now, he keeps trying to tell me to keep my left ARM straight the whole time... but that is fucking impossible! On my back swing my chesticles are touching and I have to bend my arms to get the club to go above one and a half feet off the ground... but on a brighter note, I went through half of one bucket of balls before I was driving over 200 yards, then three quarters of the bucket was gone before I was shooting them straight down the pipeline, dead ahead over 200 yards. The best part is that they never went above like twenty feet off the ground. Lol

My chest was so pumped afterwards it hurt. I have to do chest later that night and was concerned that t was going to be affected. No such luck. I had a great workout.
 
I hear ya on that brother...I just don't prefer the Affliction brand...nothing against it really...just me. I'll get what ever I can from Gasp/Hotboz from here...I'll either just pay the extra $ or sport a cheap 3XL or even larger(not bragging...Trust me:eek:)....Just telling the truth here.

I like a lot of the Gasp/Hotboz stuff. I just like to try everything on before I buy it. Its hard with those online companies.
 
at 5'9" and a half even 218 made me start feeling crappy. now down to 208 and can't wait to get down to and maintain 195. i feel for you guys at 250 plus. makes you wonder how healthy is it being that heavy be it muscle or fat? your heart still has to work harder to get blood to all that tissue. i'm now eating less and enjoying meals so much more now. some guys can get away with being heavy with no health consequences. the rest of us need to think about health and longevity.

Bingo. At 42 I love the fact that I don't obsess with getting any bigger. Staying lean and healthy between 200-210 suits me fine. The best part is the good health that comes along with it. That said, different strokes for different folks. I like being mobile.... a lot.

You know me AE...At about 6' plus, my goal is 205 to 225 OR "So" lol;)

Scarring people at my magnitude and any health related issues just aint cuttin it any more....Gotta get some kids out the pipe before it's too late LOL:p

at 5 9' I just want to get down to 220 and maintain that weight...

I naturally carry a lot of muscle and have a thick bone structure. My wrist are over 8'. When I graduated HS I was 5 9' at 195 at 8% bdf Well I had abs and a lot of muscle so less than 10% anyways. So now in early 30s naturally I walk around in decent shape (bdf 10% less) in 220s.

My problem is keeping fat off. I'm 260 now with alot of fat. :(

I am 310 pounds.. right now.. muscle..at 6' 6".. my knees are starting to protest....
 
I'm only 255 or so and am definitely not as lean as some of the guys here. It's really not that bad. Just depends on your body structure and how you carry your weight. As an MMA fighter, my focus is on performance, and I perform at my best strength and endurance-wise when fighting HW.

If you're naturally a smaller guy and you bulk yourself up to a high weight, yeah, I'd imagine it probably sucks.

Because I work on a commercial fishing vessel, bending over and moving side to side up down left right happens virtually all day. When I would hit 250-260lbs in the winter it made my job near impossible. It was enough of an issue that I do not get that heavy anymore. 260 hurts in my world.
 
I feel you Lucian, Im about to start again after a 6 week of trying to keep my weight. :cool: But I'm looking foward to it, yes it all sucks as far as the way you feel, but it's worth it to me. I'm going to be shooting for 260 myself, I have 14 weeks to get there, then I be coming down for 14 weeks.

You can tell the ones that have never truely bulked clean and fast, because they just don't get it. And as far as the breathing goes and everything else, it all stops being a struggle when your top out and then drop a few pounds. I really feel your body struggles because your body has to adapt to being able to supply all the blood (nutrients & oxygen) to your body. Muscles are not the only thing growing.

and not to mention trying to pick up chicks when you look like you could crush em with one hug. Youre not a chick magnet sorry. I got way more attention when i leaned down for my shows.
So the other day Kari asked if i had seen SHELBY'S video blog. I hadnt. I had seen some of his other vids but not that one.(btw i liked it. pretty cool peeking into a bbers life and seeing so much that looks like your own.). Now why did she ask? Im sitting about 260lb right now. Bigger than ive been in a long time, and leaner than ive ever been over 240. I got here pretty quick. But as i sit here, its hard to breathe. On shelby's vid, you can hear him breathing. Its the same thing im going through. Its hard to tie my shoes, walk in the mall, im wearing a 3xl....and not many stores have that size so i cant wear my favorite A/X, Ed Hardy, and Affliction stuff. So its Jordan and things like House of pain, ect for now.
( i have no idea where dusty and phil get their clothes. you guys wanna give up some shopping secrets? )

What do we do this for?I gave myself the next year to see what i could really do, with the info i have found in the last 2 years, the intensity i have and the great support system i have now to see how good i can be. I have no idea how this will end up. But looks like, Pre-contest, offseason, no matter what....its uncomfortable to be a bodybuilder at all levels.

so as Shelby knows and the rest of you who are sitting over the 240 mark.....sometimes bodybuilding isnt fun. We do this as a means to an ends....just hope it all pays off.
