Okay thanks. I'll give this a shot. it almost feels like the belt is cutting into my skin so maybe leaning over it like you're saying would help take the pressure off.

Are you using a belt squat belt or a dip belt? They are very different and dip belt is hell uncomfortable (all wrong angles). I know it may seem a dumbass question but it's happened a ton before.

valid question, my gym uses only spud belts.

I have this SPUD belt...use it over my regular belt and it's great! There are some Spud belts that are thinner/cheaper...and that's what my gym has...no thanks!

Where are you centering the pull of the chain in relation to your feet? When I set it so the pull is more towards the heel (going straight down, not at all forward) I don't get much sheer pressure from the belt.

Get your own belt. SPUD. I've never looked back.Those crap belts in the gym used to dig into me as well..pinching etc.

I wish I could figure out a way to make belt squats more comfortable. At lighter weight I'm fine but when I start adding plates the downward pull of the belt creates a pain in my groin and hips. Ive tried putting my knee sleeve or a towel between myself and the belt but it still painful. maybe my set up is wrong idk.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with your setup. Padding is definitely important, but at some point with very heavy weight no extra padding helps.

@Dens228 bumping. Did you ever buy one ? Reason I ask is that I picked one up last week for my home gym bargain price. Guy even threw in an adjustable spud belt squat belt for me. Lever arm Version. Wide platform and I can even box squat on it.
