African American hair is notoriously kinky and unpredictable under the scalp making extraction difficult. Most of the top talents will be able to implant it correctly but you risk higher than average transection rates during extraction and depending on your level of loss that can be problematic. The compromise to offset higher transection rates is to use larger punches which means more visible scarring. Fue is not scarless it is just smaller circles vs a linear scar, when you're forced to use larger punches you risk creating a visible extraction pattern if it is not done well so it may be best to undergo a small test extraction to see how difficult your individual grafts will be as you may be better off with fut in the end if your extractions prove very difficult but the docs will decide that. In terms of specialists for difficult hair, Dr Umar, he's made a living out of extracting the toughest hairs, he built a tool especially for this purpose. I'm not the biggest fan of his design work, but he is probably the most capable to extract your grafts without an obscene transection rate. The next best bets are in Belgium, Dr Bisanga Lupanzula or Mwamba...just the reality Black men trust black doctors with their hair, they will have the most experience in clinic. Dr Lupanzula is the only one of the group that takes care of extractions himself and would be my recommendation for you but all 3 of them are excellent doctors and all do very aesthetic work that imo is better than Dr Umars. That would be my short list to begin consulting if I were you.
