Best Blender I ever used...

I bought a Breville blender last week and this thing is the best ever for shakes. It has a semi-pherical shaped bottom (Yes a Hemi) and blades that contour to this shape so nothing can hide from it. Its settings for smoothies will turn on, pulse, stop, wait for stuff to settle, then pulse again. Its also the quietest blender I've ever used. That is the primary reason I bought it since I use it in my office.

Downside: Pricey, it was $178 at Brandsmart.

Has anybody had digestion issues resulting from the continued
use of a blender? I mean all that aeration that occurs when
operating the blender, not to mention the inevitable oxidation
of the contents.

When I was much younger, I used to mix up my protein drinks
in one of these contraptions and I was never satisfied with the
results. Just never felt good after drinking them. All that air
(microbubbles?) I think might have been the problem.

Personally, I would never have use a high-speed blender. If I
were going to drink my food, I would grind it or compress it,
never emulsify it.

Am I way off base here? Anybody else feel the same way as me?

all the air is why I use a hand held blender. It doesn't seem to fold the air into it like normal blenders and just works out better for me.

magic bullet blends anything i throw in it quick and easy.

The oyster Fuzion blender about $70 only available at wal mart online. All metal drive so it won't burn up like the rubber ones. It has a protein shake button on and it spins one day then the other sucking everyting back in. Closet to the shakes at the gym you can get I love the damm thing.

the important thing is not to overblend

most blenders on the market are well capable of tearing through protein shakes

my old one was 750w russell hobbs and my gf smashed the jug

i bought a new one with just a 400w motor and its quieter but still capable of blending shakes or any solid foods

get a glass jug though, plastic stains and looks ghey

My dad got the Vitamix 5000 for free. Totally sick. I am pretty sure if I put rocks in there with ice and water I could make a rock smoothie

I admit, the primary concern was quiteness, as I'm using this in my office, I don't want it to sound like an air raid siren.

bump for this thread

Im gonna get a new one today. My mom had a vitamix back when i lived at home and it was awesome, but they cost like 250$. Any other ideas? Obviously id like to spend as little as possible but id rather pay 100 bucks for a really good one then 50 for one thatll make me want a new one in another week. Lookin for the 'milkshake' type consistency like you get at the gym (or as close to it as you can). I like using alotta ice :D

the plain $30-40 oster works great, and has a metal drive system so it crushes ice well too. Other than that, any of the "boat motor" type hand blenders works pretty well too

anywhere depending on brand from 20-150, just dont get a cordless one they dont really have enough power. you can't chop ice with these, but they'll go thru berries + bananas nice, and not suck in as much air.

As a Chef, I have Breville stuff in my kitchen. Great quality and durability!
Blend the job well !

I wouldnt buy the cordless ones, they dont have much power and takes forever to recharge the fucker !

Dudes:

If you're looking for a blender that's killer, look no further than willitblend . com

I don't think I can post a link here.

I have a Breville juicer and that thing is amazing. Put whole apples in there, anything, doesn't matter. It'll juice it right up. Breville makes great stuff, unfortunately it isn't cheap.

Regarding air... I always leave my shakes to settle for at least 30mins, so most of the air is gone. No bloated stomach or sick feelings this way.
