Best creamy milk/dairy free alternative for coffee

I’m trying to move away from dairy as I feel it upsets my stomach and move to something less heavy. The thing is every time I’ve tried almond milk in my coffee it ruins the flavor and makes the final product taste watered down. What are you guys doing for your coffee? And what is the best dairy alternative for a creamy sweet coffee flavor - I would prefer something without artificial sweeteners

I don't know that you'll find much dairy-free without artificial sweeteners.

I like Walden Farms creamers - dairy and calorie-free - but they do have artificial sweeteners.

Ive been using almond milk for years in my coffee. At first I'm wondering what you mean by watered down but then I thought when I actually use cream at Starbucks I feel the coffee is super thick tasting.

I think if you stick to almond milk, you will get used to it. I did and prefer it now. Give it more time. Coconut milk has a different mouth feel yet also another flavor. There are also certain products that are almond based that have a different mouth feel sold as cream substitutes.

unsweetened cashew milk. Creamier than almond milk.

If milk or cream is messing with your stomach, it might just be lactose intolerance. It happens to a lot of people as they get older and their body stops producing as much lactase. You could just get some lactaid tablets, which are lactase, and take one (or half of one) when you drink your coffee with cream or milk. I’ve tried all the alternative “milks” (which aren’t milk at all), and I think they all suck, so I don’t bother with them any more. Sure, if you keep using something you don’t like (like almond milk) you may get used to it, but you’ll probably never really like it. If you still like real milk, but are just having stomach issues with it, just try the lactaid out, it really does work.

I've never tried this, but Dave Palumbo has said a teaspoon of whey isolate works well as creamer.

Some people substitute coconut oil for the high octane oil.

Cheers,
Bones

I'm going to try this.

My favorite coffee creamer ATM is an Almond Joy flavored one. I looked at the ingredients, and it has a "caseinate" of some sort, but it says that ingredient is lactose free.

I've used a whole scoop and mixed it in coffee to make a frapachino type which was good but I think you will be dissappinted with just a teaspoon.
