I know some guys prepare ALL their food for the week while others cook it on the day of. I used to cook it on the day of but decided to start cooking massive amounts of food for the week just to save time (im in grad school AND working right now).

2 things i picked up that will save you TIME and EFFORT for CHEAP are:

a slow cooker/crock pot and a steamer.

both of those cost together MAYBE $60. I bought a large crockpot at Sam's Club and a big steamer at Walmart. both have saved my ass and allowed me to forget about food for awhile as i'm doing my daily routine.

you seriously can throw 12 frozen chicken breasts in a crockpot, add a cup of water, some soy sauce and whatever else you want and just let it go. i throw my beef or chicken in there at night and when i wake up i have tons of protein. it also leave the beef tender as hell like pot roast regardless of cut.

the steamer is obviously great for veggies but since i am in precontest mode, i have started using it for fish. AWESOME. i throw 6 or 7 tilapia fillets in there and they are done in 20 mins.

i was always a GRILL man but i'm living in an apt now and dont have time to walk down and fire up the grill in the courtyard we have. these are 2 great options. MUCH better than the foreman grill. i have learned to fuckin HATE that thing

I looooove my slow cooker too—it's so easy to use and always guarantees flavorful food. Another great food assistant for me is an air fryer...with an oven. Yup. Found this gem of a kitchen appliance and it made my life so much easier and healthier: https://www.meccanohome.com/power-airfryer-oven-review/ I mean, I can easily shove some vegetables in there and cook them however I want. And as a lover of fried foods, this takes away the oil in every meal I prepare. Definitely a favorite in my house.
