Working so much and managing school and bodybuilding takes alot outta me

I was watching office space and was wishing a hypnotherapist could make me stress free too!!! lol:D

Anyways was wondering what your best methods for managing stress were?

RONJON

Ive found keeping my mind occupied was the best for me. i always try to learn new hobbies or go out to the mall just to look around or learn a new song on guitar or something. Sitting around doin nothing is when stress gets to me

I just remind myself, how successful am I if I'm never happy? Sometimes you just need a break from the everyday grind. Try doing things like going fishing, or hiking, maybe take a day off from gym and do something else? Getting outdoors helps me, its a great reminder that maybe man wasn't put on earth to work every waking hour and go to bed with a million headaches everyday for the rest of his life.

..good point

Getting to the gym IS my stress buster. I'll take a mid-day break and its MY time. After a workout I can tackle the world again. I am self-employed though, so I have some freedom to manage my away-from-the-office time unless I am up against an unforgiving deadline.

I have found that stress sorta feeds on itself though. The faster you go, the more you put on your plate, the faster people expect it, the more you expect from yourself, even if its unnecessary or unwarranted. Then it becomes a vicious cycle. Be realistic with what you can accomplish in a single day.

Well the obvious is not putting yourself in stressful situations but since that isnt always possible getting out and taking breaks from your stressors is the best method. Relaxing by massage or if you have a woman in your life a sexual encounter can help greatly. If its chronic then perhaps you would have to see a doc and he would have to prescribe anti stress medicaition but only that as a last resort.

Maintaining adrenal gland health with an adapotgen complex or Humanofort, and several grams of vitamin c help me greatly, also don't take it lightly if your not sleeping soundly. Since changing my pillow to an orthopedic one (looks like a bean from the side) i sleep much deeper and fall alseep faster, reading before bed also helps me. Also lets say your at work in a stressful environment try getting up at your break and going for a walk to clear your head.

I believe that what thebrick posted above is truly the way to manage stress.

Great responses...on a supplements note ive been hearing about cortisol level reducing supps..epecially from people coming off a cycle. That sounded interesting???

For me I ALWAYS take on too much...in such a hurry to be succesfull i guess..glad I have a place like this board to kick back and shoot the shit about my favorite sport..really helps me chill out haha

I've had to learn to deal with stress as I suffer from anxiety, vitamin C has been shown to lower cortisol levels significantly, i take 4 grams a day you can get 1g tabs cheap at costco. Zma or just magnesium before bed 400mg will help you get a better sleep and cope with stress better, but definitely look into Reset AD I haven't used Humanofort but the feedback on that sounds great too. With reset ad your all of a sudden jacked off of a cup of coffee or a diet coke your body becomes more sensitized to stimulants, you will also not have that mid day slump you'll just have steady energy and your sleep at night is more restful. Animals are also great stress relievers i've got 4 labs and playing with them definitely calms me down.

For me bro. it is meditation and prayer. This is the only way I keep focus and sane.

Thanks Chaps on the supps..i will have to do some research there..and
Wtw11171 those are DEFINATELY big things I use too!!! Really try hard to get that time in at least a little each day..kinda hard sometimes

I understand what you mean bro. but I look at it like this, my Creator gave me 24 hours in a day the least I can do is give HIM 15min in the AM 15min at noon and 15min at night. This is only 45 minutes. There are days I do more but never less. Let's just say for me I need to do this for HIM first and myself second. You're in my prayers bro. PAX.

I appreciate that bro..and personally i say a prayer each time im walkin into my work for things to work out the best that day..definately helps IMO

..never really get to do the meditation thing:( Would really like to add some things into my day that could help me chill and get mellowed ya know
