bicep curls opportunity

Have a real difficult time stopping my left elbow from turning out during curls. It is worse on bench, such as a preacher curl. It also turns out during one arm curls as well. Naturally, lighter weight helps, but long term, lighter weight won't help me grow. I will take some pics shortly and post them. On my left arm, I have about 1+inch space between my forearm and bicep when I flex it. Right bicep completely fills that gap and touches my forearm. Suggestions?

Back up and do your curls against a wall..make sure elbows stay on the wall.
I know it looks gay, but you could try the arm blaster if you had to.

Let it turn out. Its not going to hurt anything. Its your bodies natural way and the way it wants to move. It has probably been doing this for years and you have never noticed it. Thats the flight pattern your body wants to use so just let it.

Yeah, when I attempt to force it in, I seem to stress my shoulder to mych

it sounds to me like a shoulder stability problem rather than an elbow one. if your shoulder rotates forward your elbow will turn out.

Do a curl a curl with your left arm making a conscious effort to hold your left scapula tight. if that seems to fix the issue then work on some stability exercises to tighten the scapula up (rotator cuff exercises etc). you might need to drop the weight a touch till you can perform a curl with a controlled scapula.

hope it helps, mike
