Bicep curls - Wide grip vs Narrow grip

Is there actually and difference in terms of how you are hitting the bicep by narrowing or widening the grip?
 
depends on which works for you... I do both, one week wide, one week narrow
 
I always thought wide grip worked the inner head more and close grip worked the outer head more
 
I thought the Exact opposite.
 
Choose the grip that allows you to lift more weight with more reps.
 
I normally alter every other set on arm day. Strait or preacher.
I Stick w-hammer rope, hangin concentration and over head pully curls after back.

Well I thought about it then I tried it messing around not pumped

Flat bar -
Wide-Hits inner
Close-Hit outer

Easy curl-changes wrist position
Wide- hits outer
Close- hits inner




I'm going to do arms today and once I'm pumped up ill reconfirm I still feel it like that.

false, bodybuilding usually works in opposites. I learned that from Bob Chick training videos back in the day
 
From a EXTREMELY reliable source, who designs training programmes for many people advised me this was great for the Bicep Brachii. (inner) :)

I actually found alternating between the two amazing :), ofcourse with other exercises in that session complimenting this movement :)
 
I NEVER do the same exact routine twice in a row. I really heavily on constant muscle confusion for growth. But I always make sure to either work both wide and narrow grip in the same workout, or if i don't get wide grips in a workout, i get them in the next one. Same with narrow grip. Which way works which part of the bicep isn't all that important IMO, what matters is that you're hitting both heads consistently
 
I just put it to the test with straight bar and easy curl.
Wrist position didn't matter.
Wide is inner
Close is outer

Here's what I did

Arms-PM theory session

Super Set
*Straight bar curls SS wide/close
45x10/10
65x10/10
85x10/10
Swap to easy curl
75x10/10
65x10/10
55x10/10

*Fore arm curls
45x20
65x20
85x20
Swap to easy curl
75x20
65x20
55x20

*Flat Bench Straight bar Crusher SS wide/close
45x10/10
65x10/10
85x10/10
Swap to easy curl
75x10/10
65x10/10
55x10/10

Just for fun 1 set
DB Hammer curls
55x8


My arms are pumped beyond belief. Ouch it hurts

I always felt it was shorting the range of motion to go narrow or wide. Id rather vary the angle than the grip.
 
Lee Haney once said that wide grip is superior to narrow or shoulder width grip because it allows the biceps to supinate the wrist which works the muscle completely.
 
Which ever one allow u to lift the most weight without pain in the wrist with good form. It is very hard to separate heads of the bicep.
