Bicep tendonitist

I've been nursing a upper bicep tendonitis (Bi to delt), for a couple months now and have had just about every possible form of tendonitis on my body over the years. Best thing is rest, but of course a dedicated bodybuilder becomes a stupid bodybuilder (like me) and never rests. I found that finding an exercise to work around the pain for a few months always does the trick while still stimulating the muscle, the trick is to find what works for you.
BTW....like your screen name, I am almost 8 months post quad tendon repair.

Lol thanks did that in 99 as far as bicep tendon goes I tried rest but always comes back am trying to work my back and mid traps more to pull my shoulders back and in place

I got bicep tendonitist of the short head any suggestions

Try doing self-myofacial release (SMR) - see videos by John Rusin for example.

I too have biceps and elbow tendonitis at the moment and have had it, off and on, over the years. These techniques do help along with as much rest as you can. I once had a specialist tell me during a bad elbow episode that there is a very simple cure, just take a year off from the gym (i took a day or two lol)

Look into voodoo flossing. You'll thank me

This video has helped many people, including myself. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdeJAo5RLGM&t=109s"]How to cure bicep tendonitis! - YouTube[/ame]

Honestly, you're going to want to rest it as long as possible, even consider wearing a sling at times.

I've got it myself and it got to the point where the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep at night. Had to go to the doc and got prescribed mega dosing NSAID. Didn't want to get a cortisone shot.

One product to look into is E-Pharm Joint Force

Is it tendonitis or Tendinosis? I had tendinosis in my elbow and bicept tendon for about two years, and it was just wrecked. I tried everything: massage, flossing, jointforce, rollers, deep massage, graston, cortisone, and ART. I was desperate and my only two other options were surgery and PRP. Two shots later I have almost no pain and are actively rehabbing it using theraband bar. I have been out of the gym since July (couldn't even lift a plate to put on the leg press) and i start back in the gym in three weeks doing very light work.
It's totally sucks but I ignored it and said fuck it because for the first time in a long time I looked really fucking good: total recomp over a year, before the injury. Lost about 5 inches off my waist and gained about 20lbs of muscle over that year and a half.
Now I am about 1/8 what I was then. But I will be back but slowly and listen to my body. No more super heavy grinding reps, if I don't feel like it that day...I will stay home. And if I tweak anything...no matter how minor I will lay off that area until it feels better.

I inject 2-3 of those a day. Great results in 2-3 weeks when done correctly and if indicated. Must modify lifting after to prevent recurrence.

Find out what movements or positions cause it to flare up and modify those. I have it and it flares up most from heavy squats with a straight bar. I'm a powerlifter so I have to squat, but I like to use different bars that don't stress the biceps tendon as much.
Flossing, massage, ART, and lots of light band Curls help me a lot. As well as tissue diffusion(look up body tempering by Donnie Thompson on YouTube). And when all else fails, BPC-157 works wonders.

I agree, I recently purchased a couple of the Voodoo Floss bands from Rogue on a whim after hearing people over and over say how well it works and I also watched endless YouTube videos how to use them.

I have always had forearm tendonitis for many years and usually I pay $60 a session for ART treatments a couple times a month at least, after having the voodoo band for less than 10 minutes I followed what I seen on YouTube videos and fixed my own tendonitis pains!!

Trust me I was highly skeptical of voodoo flossing but for the past month or so I will do my arms before workouts that cause pain and the whole workout I am virtually pain free which is not normal, sometimes if I feel the pain during the workout I will floss again and I can easily finish my workout, in the past I had to quit early because of pain.

Good luck! It works!

Get checked by a pt, corrective trainer or Chiro and see if you are internally rotated at the shoulder ( most bodybuilders are to a degree). This puts extra stress on the biceps tendon. Once I got my shoulders somewhat back in line my bicep and elbow issues greatly subsided.

I would definitely get into a morning routine and pre-workout routine of myofascial release. Tons of info out there including the video posted. every time mine starts to flair up I start the routine and it never becomes a big issue.

Thsnks

Thanks guys I got some voodoo floss and a myofascia release star so am give it all a try

I've been dealing with it for years. Like others said avoid anything that aggravates it. Build up your rear delts and upper back and get deep tissue work and if possible see a chiro

Several years ago I was doing tbar rows and on my last rep I felt a pop around my rear delt area it didn't hurt or bruise just felt really lose and never really felt right after I have done art and graston till I figured that my shoulders on that side pull forward do to that looseness so yes I agree that I have to fix my posture and rear delts / mid traps taking off does nothing cause it always comes back .
