I got hit in the face last Sunday and ruptured a few capillaries in my eye. Its a #$%kin mess. My whole eye is red. I have a subconjunctival hematoma the eye doc said I can't lift, work out or do anything that would increase my blood pressure. Anyone every have this problem and and when did you start working out again?:banghead:

I think I must have had the same diagnosis. Back in my boozing days I started a fight that I was too drunk to finish. So the other guy finished me with a few headbutts (I saw a big white light on every one), elbows and fist strikes while in full mount.
Needless to say, my entire left side of my face was black and blue and very swollen. My brother said I looked like the elephant man. The worst part was that my eye was so swollen that it looked like it was literally going to explode.
There was no white any more, pure blood red, and it took on the appearance of a skinned grape. The normally circular black pupil area was distorted and square-like. Like an idiot I just roughed it out at home and never went to the doctor.
Thank God my vision is still good, but to this day the left eye is a bit bigger than the right one. I don't know maybe that's normal, never noticed it before.
So, to answer your question, I didn't bother to lift for about three weeks afterward. I waited until it was completely back to normal. The eye took the longest, the face was normal after a week.
I had an eye injury last year and was on 7 days bed rest. I went back to the gym after 10 days or so. Better to keep the vision and give the body some rest than to risk further injury to the eyes.
Being injured, with any type of injury, that keeps you from working out absolutely sucks. But hey its gotta be done, and the rest will probably be beneficial for you anyways.
