since i began my offseason i have brought my cal up to 5000 on workout days and about 3500 non wo days. its working well as im getting bigger but staying leaner than ever before. the high cal days i eat so much my belly sticks out. im lean and have abbs but i get a distended abdomen when i eat a lot. anyone have this problem>? im up to 243 lb. is there anyway to avoid the belly bloat? i know most guys over 220 get it. it goes away when i diet, is it just food mass stored in my intesstines ect??

I have the same problem bro
right now I'm at 250, still have abs and after eating I look like a 9 months pregnant woman
 
good question, Im starting to get in that same boat. Today im 223lb, when I go past 225 (fluxation) from eating huge meals for each meal my stomache pokes out like its full of air. I don't think in the long run this is good, over time I think you could stretch the internal linings of organs. Especially with things like HGH.
 
This is exactly what I have so I just had it checked out 2 days ago (docs took a look) and it's all fecal matter.
I am having a clean tomorrow and a colonoscopy on Tue to see what's happening in there and then to work out a treatment. Most likely irritable bowel syndrome - the bowel is not pushing the fecal matter properly through, so it just builds up inside.
 
The same here. I guess it just goes with the high calories and constant eating. But until someone comes up with a way to get bigger that doesn't involve stuffing myself full of food I'll just put up with it.

This is what I suspected for my self, just based off reading the side effects that holding fecal matter has. I talked to my GI doctor about it, he told me he doesn't beleive in colonoscopy and they typically don't do any thing. I want to give it a shot if it could help.
 
clean out your guts...

I said when i hit 30, I would go get cleaned out...

Well I chickened out...but the doc does say that getting cleaned out is like running liquid drano through your drains...things will go through a lot smoother and your guts will like you for it.

One homeopath lady here will only help you if you do 12 of them in a 2 month period...HOLY VIOLATED!!!! but your will be able to absorb foods better.

I honestly think this is why PHIL drinks his protein...heavy meats tend to take forever to move through your GI track...NOT a direct quote from him, just an idea.
 
I have been living with a distended muscle belly for a long long time...never gave it a thought until now..It went down alot dieting down for my upcoming event, so we will see... But hmm,, maybe a good clean out might be what I need..
 
Most General Surgeons who would ultimately deal with this problem would tell you to add fiber to your diet. It will keep everthing moving and reduce the potential for diverticulitis and polups. 2 table spoons of "Millers Bran" and a extra 1/2 gallon of water per day will keep you clean. "Millers bran is a type not a brand." Also if you want a quick "clean" use an over the counter oral saline laxative (liquid). It is usually used as a bowl cleaner before your colonoscopy.You can find it in all drug stores..............

Pray to God that you do not have to work manual labor for a couple days ;)

If you do, toss on some depends...or get sent home early for shyatting yourself :eek: :eek:
 
Colon cleansing

Get some metamucil or get a detox product to clean your insides. It is common practice when you reach a certain age. But since we are eating so much it might help. Also more fiber could help as well.

I used to get that problem too. Now I just don't eat as much. Think about it. If you're full of shit, your body obviously isn't able to utilize that much food anyway. All you get from it is a bloated gut and potential health problems. Why not just eat less?
 
It goes down trust me.
Never had to be cleaned out but Big A has a good suggestion and I am going to check into it as anyone that has eaten red meat for 20 years a as a staple like me -arrrrgggggg!
The following supplements will help bromelain, acidolp, ginger root, and supplemental fiber.
 
What is the proper name of the procedure to clean out your bowels? is it just a colon cleanse? Does any one know if insurance covers it?

Just had a sigmoidoscopy (a less invasive form of colonoscopy} as part of my annual phisical. Everything was pink and pretty (you can watch it on a screen) except for some divots from diverticulosis. The Doc recomended metamucil to keep it from getting inflamed, which has made me a regular fellow.:D
 
you guys are all right. when we eat so much food every 2-3 hours the intestines just dont get a break. when i start dieting my belly goes down due to smaller portions and less red meat. it takes your body anywhere from 1-2 days to process red meat. like myself i eat about 2 pds a day and the only time my stomach is somewhat flat is first thing in the morning after a 8 hour fast!!!
 
Well, my colon cleansing is over. I had to drink the most FOUL stuff you can imagine. I dropped 7lbs and I lost 3" on my waist measurement. I was on the toilet for like 8 hours though.
I am about to go to the clinic now for the colonoscopy. I am nervous as hell as I never had it before and they put me to sleep, etc :(

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! LOL......:eek: I'LL BET YOU FEEL BETTER ALREADY....LET US KNOW HOW THAT COLONOSCOPY THING GOES. I'D BE FREAKED OUT ABOUT THAT TOO.
 
thanks to my high fiber diet, I make a deposit to the porcelain bank at least 2-3 times a day, sometimes more, and man do I feel better from it.
just keep it natural, many of those PTC drugs are dangerous and can become habit forming, meaning that eventually your won't be able to crap without it!
