So my hematocrit is a bit high at 49 and I am running bold cyp so I went in to give blood and my iron was “really high “ the nurse said .Maybe 80 if I remember anyway she suggested I do a power blood donation. It is similar to a whole blood donation, except a machine is used to allow you to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation while returning your plasma and platelets. So I did but the only downside is you can only do this every 4 months instead of 2 with regular blood donations. My question ,for those with some medical knowledge, is this the way to go with my goal of lowering hematocrit or should I just stick to every 2 months with a regular donation?
