Blood glucose levels on Hum R

Have done Humulog for several years post workout but recently switched to Hum R pre workout.

I have checked my glucose levels at regular intervals and readings are always in the 80s. Do I need to lower carb intake a little to get more of a spike or drop or is it better to have stable levels during active window?

You should not be messing with slin until you understand a LOT more about it.

I've only used it for a couple years but thanks for ur concern regarding my well being.

Be nice to get an answer to a question vs another useless "u don't know what ur doing" reply.

Your question does not make sense. Why would you lower carbs during the active life if your bg is at 80? 80 is low you don't want it any lower. You will start feeling hypo symptoms.

Let me rephrase the question then -

Based on my research, I thought 80-100 was a pretty normal fasted baseline. If I check mine upon waking in the AM it is always in the 82-86 range.

After a carb heavy meal I normally get into the 105-120 range.

So my question then is when using slin, what is the "optimum" level that one should try to maintain? 80s? 90s? 100s?

I think I would go by what the normal range should be same one tour doctor uses. Which I think is 80-100??? Not sure but I wouldn't want my fasting bg over 100 for sure. If it is a break might be due. Too much insulin resistance.

normal levels are posted below, if using slin i would try and keep my glucose levels with in the normal levels. just my opinion.

Fasting blood glucose:

70–99 milligrams per deciliter (3.9–5.5 mmol/L)

2 hours after eating (postprandial):

70–145 mg/dL (3.9–8.1 mmol/L)

Random (casual):

70–125 mg/dL (3.9–6.9 mmol/L)

I believe you are WAY over thinking the process

Just talking to myself here and for others who may want to know....if you start getting resistance I'd say best way to combat it is to come off insulin, lower your carbs, and start doing some morning fasted cardio if you're not already.

I think that's a valid question. My opinion would be to keep it within normal range of 70-100 first thing in the morning.
