HI from Dr.Kim
HI all! Please be nice, I'm always just trying to be helpful
(Note I can spell, just hate these stupid LINKS that show up!)
Good points about hydration and "what's normal" being made
If you have HAD a HR in the 50's and it goes into 70's and you're hydrated (PEE IS CLEAR) that is often first sign of overtraining.
Physiology: Adrenals are cranking out cortiso, epi, norepi and the norepi keeps the epi from causing BP elevation
Otherwise HR depends on level of cardiac conditiioning and I WOULD THINK all of you hunky guys are conditioned from that standpoint so I am surprised at a HR in the 90's and wonder if this is a chronic OT situation.
YES anabolics can cause this due to a complex set of physiological things put simply-you get bigger, you trainnn (avoiding damned link!) harder-you stress out your adrenals which crank out more of the above....
Caffeinated coffee 3 cups/day doesn't raise HR
On labs make SURE (most docs don't order) you get a fasting cortisol and if the level is close or over ULN then you are overtraining. There are several things that can be done to fix this without having you lose trainn-ing time or muscle mass. This is what I DO!
Happy TGIF!
