Blood pressure while training legs

110-120 to 60 is picture perfect, especially for being on Gear, impressive! Wouldn't fuck with any BP Meds if you don't need to.

That sounds more like an exertion headache. I tend to get those when I am neglecting my water and mineral intake. Do you sweat a lot when you workout? Are you a salty sweater? Did you drink enough before and during the workout, and get enough salt?

I'd talk with a doc if it doesn't go away though. Do you get headaches not related to lifting/strenuous activities?

Hmm, you may have a point there with the water intake as I'm doing legs first thing in the morning. Probably don't have enough fluid in my body.

And no, no other headaches to speak of other than when training legs
 
I was experiencing similar symptoms once , decide to take 25mg Viagra the next leg day and it was WAY WAY worse
Come to find out I was slightly dehydrated (training first thing in the morning) and causing lower blood volume making for low blood pressure. When the legs would be pumped it was starving everything else.
I'd definitely check it before trying to take something

I think you're on to something here. I'm probably dehydrated. Never even thought of that
 
Higher blood pressure is normal during weightlifting especially during a heavy lift. 320/250+ is normal. I would make sure to breath correctly to keep from having the pressure be more then needed. From what i have read Cialis etc. will only change BP in the single digit range. You can check your BP while lifting to see what it is doing and tell any that ask that you are trying a new workout routine!

i feel like if blood pressure was the cause of the pounding headaches that you feel during your leg workouts... we would be having a lot more people encountering this issue.

Very valid point. Probably dehydration as others have pointed out.
 
Blood presssure goes up fir evening when exercising like that it’s totally normal. Drink more water before training and keep your salt intake high prior. You have nothing to worry about. Iv been taking 20 mg of cialis almost on a daily basis for several years and my baseline blood pressure is in the perfect normal range regardless of my body weight. Some people think 20 mg daily is overkill and unnecessary but it’s been working for me perfectly fine with no side effects up up to this point. Plus I always get awesome pumps in the gym and my young gf thinks I’m Superman so I’m

It’s counterintuitive 100%.

Sodium is hands down the greatest performance enhancing drug on this planet, I can typically directly correlate performance changes to my sodium intake prior to caffeine administration or glycogen levels.

Speaking in generalities, typically under heavy load blood pressure tends to drop - then in a cyclical approach will spike shortly there after.

Going to continue what I’ve been doing.
I take 20mg Cialis per day and its way more effective than 10 or 5mg ed, I also dont get the raging woodies as I did in my mid-20s, even with the inclusion of mast P EOD . ty sir always a win-win when the gf thinks we look/feel like superman, happy wife happy life!

I believe the headaches one gets on brutal leg days are simple from a loss of blood to the brain as your blood volume in your lower body Increases so much and your losing blood in your brain. I used to get those headaches pretty bad in my heavy training days and had a strongman buddy tell me to eat a spoonful of salt prior to training and shotgun a bunch of water before training. It seemed to work pretty well. I don’t know the science of it but it produced a desired effect for me and others.
 
I'll take a different view and suggest maybe low blood sugar. I used to suffer from those symptoms you speak of, only not just during workouts, but sometimes at random points during the day.
I looked into it and bought a glucose meter. Yep, each time it occurred my blood sugar was low.
Just another thing to look at. I'm not a doctor but do play one on the internet.
 
Maybe bp is actually dropping. All I know is after squats then leg press my head is just pounding.

I will have to check after my next workout
I have found that using an albuterol inhaler before leg training can help with the headaches by providing me with better breathing and more oxygenated blood to my brain. Also, lower your reps and intensity some on compound leg exercises and do more volume and reps on isolation leg exercise. You might also need to add in a couple of days per week of HIIT for about 10 minutes on non-leg days to improve your cardio. If you’re holding a bunch of water and fat—your cardio is going to suffer. If you are using Tren—your cardio is going to suffer.
 
As I've progressed up into heavier leg training (ie 450lb machine squats for reps atg- just as a measure of how heavy we're talking) I've began to notice a large spike in blood pressure. To the point where I almost have to cut my leg training short.

So with that said i have question for those knowledgeable on bp meds.

Is there a medication that I can use only on leg days to lower blood pressure without negatively impacting performance? I have absolutely zero knowledge on bp meds so this might be a very dum question to some of you.

Aspirin, arginine, and 1000mg C PW. Is you’re BP bad bc no matter what once you cross the 405 lb mark your BP is gonna pop up while you lift but that’s good and promotes vascular elasticity so unless you have high BP already or vascular issues the high BP in training is a good thing

I went off ALL stims for 3 years for fertility and now a glass of green tea ups my BP and wires me for hours, most guys even coffee drinkers don’t realize how potent caffeine is and it always ups BP and is pretty shitty on ur vascular system not unlike nicotine well basically identical to it they are both plant pesticides that kill bugs and amp us up

Yea the blood in the legs actually pressurizes the whole body. Deadlifts can have a BP drop that causes dizziness but I don’t believe the BP is ever low just a hard wlquick dip
 
Anytime you bare down and push through your abdomen like strain to poop (valsalva) will cause a drop in blood pressure as well.
This is part of the reason that ALOT of have some sort of cardiac event on the toilet.
(It can also be used to give false reading on a polygraph)

Having a blood pressure drop can trigger a headache from several reasons including hypoxia ranging from ringing ear to passing out.

Depending when the "pressure change" is happening would more explain what the exact cause is. If it happens when in a set then it could very well be a high pressure spike , if it comes on after the set it could be low pressure

A decent blood pressure monitor is a worthy investment in my opinion , right behind a blood glucose meter

Why don't you add 10mg Cialis ed?
It does a lot of good things to our body and can even control a tad blood pressure.

Maybe it will be enough to fix your problem.
 
My bp is always normal 110-120/ 60ish. Check it daily. So I don't want to add something in for everyday bp control as then I'd be dropping too low.

The only reason I'm concerned about blood pressure during legs is really because of the pounding headache. After squats and leg press I need to sit around for 12 minutes or so before I can continue on.

I just assumed this feeling I was feeling was high blood pressure.

I'll monitor this next week at the gym and see if it's actually my bp spiking
Curious, how does your neck feel during this? Could you be clenching your neck aggravating a headache response following a heavy lift?
