ANyone care to post their results? My potassium level was 6.5 last week due to my BP meds. If you are taking an ACE, please watch potassium levels. It could kill you quickly!

All my blood is taken under the exact same conditions, fasting of course and 2 complete days off of lifting before the test.

I wish we could do more of this as I am interested in looking at things like protein and enzyme elevations due to heavy lifting and diet and possibly AAS use...as well as AAS effects on TSH etc.

MassiveG, A 48 HDL level is very good. Do you use any aromataze (sp) inhibitors at all?

I used the scripted Naispan at 500mg nightly until I just could not stand it. The sunburn feeling (flushing) for me was severe. I thought it would get better after time but I gave up on it after 6 weeks or so.
 
Nice posts fellas .......interesting stuff ......Massive G ,great to see you are in good health ,shows what intelligence and good genetics can accomplish .I hope things are well for you my friend . You are a class guy I e-mailed you awhile back and never heard back , I just want you to know that like Phil ,I really appreciate your presence on the boards a great deal . [ I still admire your workout and diet info that you shared with me almost two years ago ......I was very impressed .....well constructed and thought out .....your a bright guy with a good heart ]

Remember guys , health is what matters in the end . No one cares how big your arms are when you are old , sick , or dead ......Phil and Massive G are trying to set the example by sharing and saving you the pain of learning this the hard way .....

I haven't cycled since 5/04. Been training down for about a year never dropped below 280 till recently and that's because I forced myself to stop all heavy training-to do a 4-6 week rest. I have always wanted to do this (ala Ronnie C-which I am not of course), but always too hardcore-longest I ever took off was forced 10 years ago from a tonsillectomy which I was out of the gym 3 weeks. I gained for 3 solid months after that and broke plateaus. For the last almost year and a half I have just trained down, meaning just to failure or stopping short of it to give my body a rest-and I grew like a mad man for 2 months-that's how beat up I was and am. I maintaining 265 or so and doing cardio 5 days a week and eating a lower protein diet and clean. I am taking very little in the nature of vitamins too, other than a standard multi, and OMEGA threes and cooking in OO oil. I am still not deviating from protein/fat meals and protein/carb meals. I switched everything up for now eating more chicken and egg whites vs protein powders and beef. As well as I am eating more fruit too salads more brown rice and oatmeal and veggies and soups made from fresh vegetables.
Funny about staying heavy CLEAN a lot of the problems I thought that were from AAS, never went away as my high bodyweight kept me there, as I topped out at 290 when clean with a lot of CEE and high protein and heavy training.
Now @265 my BP is down, reduced sweating and winded less often at the slightest of effort, I sleep better, I don't cramp up when I walk 50 feet, I can tie my shoes, dunk a basketball (ok that's a lie unles it's a 6 ft high basket :D ) my joints feel 100% better I am still actively stretching and doing some cuff work as well as getting some massages 3 times a month or so.

My future I don't know...I long to be 330 everyday Squat 700, Incline 6, dead 6 BB row 5, leg press 3000, etc etc etc. ..but I also realize that 15 years in the game my body is beat up and even though not a mega doser over the years, my body is beat up over this high body weight for at least the last ten years I have been over 250.

I want to thank Dante, as his post(s) inspired me a year or so ago about paying your dues and longterm lifting and setting yourself up for a healthy happy future from years of heavy lfitng and experience. Also Phil too as his posts radiate experience and he tells it like it is on here trying to steer the young guys away from a pipe dream of pro bb'ing and curb the drug abuse and sharing ways to keep health up.

I may opt for HRT, or slightly higher doses shortly as I am over 35, and or make one last run @300 this way with full blown DC training and high protein-but I'll never exceed 600 mgs a week again total doses and the days of trenbelone and dball or drol are over.

But lately the boards have really turned me away from pursuing the competitive life as I believe every contest you do really shortens your health in BB'ing even if on minimal drugs. I have seen some good bros die like Masswithclass2002, and even more guys that I know that have health problems holding on to a dream which is a dead end. I watch everything now no painkillers, no fat burners, no clen.

My role on the boards has changed in the last few years and my goal is to educate people on every aspect of this stuff and learn myself as I have went to docs all along when using and not and had to train them to my levels.
I would like to do more of what Phil is proposing and see more bloodwork and discuss things like cholesterol enzymes protein in the urine dehydration etc, more so than the standard drug protocol for getting some lean mass. That and also nutrition and supplementation as well as the training systems to maximize gains.

I get tired of seeing these young guys in the hospital at local shows in ICU and the ER's it happens a lot and you never see or hear about them.

Good idea to take off training for a few days before the blood test. Training can raise creatinine levels and BUN. Drink pleanty of water before a test also, or your BUN will be high. BBB, to answer yourt question, I am on blood pressure medicine. The BP meds I am on spare potassium so I have to watch my intake. A level 6 can be very dangerous. 6.5 is obviously worse. I was eating 2 cantaloupe every night wich is loaded with potassium. My fault completely.
 
Man , that post just reiterated what I mentioned about you earlier G . I so can relate to your post it is scary . I have been clean for 10 years [ well . I actually did two very short cycles during that time ] I have always loved bodybuilding and been very interested in all aspects of the sport ,but after my arrest I stepped away like a spoiled 293 lb child [ I couldn't be a potential pro anymore ......so fuck it .....man ,that was pathectic .....training is part of me ] Well , three years ago I couldn't take it anymore and I started to train aiming at a comeback of sorts .Two and half years ago, I found the boards and was I bit by the bug hardcore . I knew I had the genetics and the means to put together a competitive package and get some attention .But the last couple of years have ended up as nothing but death, heartache , and injury to me . I have survived , perservered , and been awoken with a new prespective of what bodybuilding is to me . I no longer wish to compete or recieve recognition . I wish to maintain the look that I have recently attained as long as possible as I grow old , while striving to be the best healthest version of me that I can be .I fooled myself for along time thicking that I was leaner than I was and recently found the time and motivation to get into bodybuilding shape .And let me tell you it wasn't fun getting there , but the rewards have been great . For the first time in along time in along time. I would feel comfortable in a room standing next to anyman [ I am not freaky , but have Bob Paris shape and balance and I like my look[ which is all that really matters ] .....not thick or vascular like on gear , but pretty and athletic ......I have always done pretty well with the ladies for the most part .......but right is now is almost funny .....because I am not some cheese ball throwing his dick around ....lol] I feel healthy and fit [ and I can drunk a b -ball ...lol ] This is what bodybuilding should feel like for everyone ........I am still 240, but this is the best 240 I have ever weighed [by far ...no more than 3-4 weeks out of contest shape ]. I have abs , small waist / hips .....and seperation everywhere . I am drug free ,but may explore HRT in near future and am very focused on maintaining this condition in the easiest most intelligent manner possible . I will picking your brains here .Because hoinestly ,mainting 6-8 % year round will be tough, but I don't care ........it feels way too good to let it go ......there has got to be away to hold on to this .........I miss being huge as well [ the stares and the comments ] . I also miss the crazy lifts I used to do . But I love the way I am looked at now so much better ........no more juice comments all the time and I am treated like I was when I was an athlete . I went to lake the other day and people just flocked , no negative comments or hard stares .[ it was cool ] In essense, I have come full circle . Bodybuilding is about feeling good both physically and mentally . Developing the best you within your own frame work and feeling confident about it . For the first time is my whole life I feel like a bodybuilder .........proud , healthy , and strong .....[ the key for me now is trying to maintain as well as better what I have done ] Threads like this are the kind of info I want .......diet and supp tips for health and longevity are the only tricks of the trade I wish to know these days .......I want to die with abs and hard glutes and not have to rely on stimulints , drugs , ect .....to maintain them ........just knowledge and hard work .....I respect the hardcore competive bodybuilders and will always be a fan of what they achieve , but the fact is someday all my brothers in iron should share my same perspective and come to grips with a healthful more balanced approach........One should bodybuild for life .........your body is a temple !!!

My higest cholesterol rating ever was 230, and I lowered that to 170 in a month with red yeast rice, no flush niacin, fish oils, vitamin C, and odorless garlic 400 ius E and a host of just normal supplemets...I think the red yeast rice and niacin were a big part as I took everything else already except I increased the fish oils and added in *smile* 4-6 oz of dark red burgundy red win a night with a handfull of grapeseed extract caps!! LOL

My father showed a recent study where 2 cups of Welches Grape Juice beat out red wine. 1 cup at breakfast and 1 cup at night. It cant be diet either, has to have the full sugar content.
 
ok - a little off topic but very related.

i have been searching for a place to get blood tests since explaining everything i want to get done will be pretty hard to the doc.

i thought i found a place in directlabs.com but after speaking with them they do not do testing for NYS residents due to NYS laws.

anyone have alternatives that will work for a NYS resident?

Any doctor

Any doctor should check these levels once a year during a physical. If not, get another doctor. We pay enough in insurance, they owe it to us.
