Sure they have great picture and sound. that's if you can get these f--king things to play threw a hole move with out freezing or skipping and so on . you think with the technology they have they could make them were a figer print or a small scratch does not end your hole night. i.m mean what the f--k!!!

Yeah I am a BIG home theater guy and it is very rare. Clean your disks and consider getting a new player. Not all are created equally especially from older generations not from this year.

I could go on and on about this but seeing that it's promuscle and not bluray forums, i'll limit it to this: Update your firmware and if that doesnt work get a new player.

i dont know why people waste there money on cheap ass players (not saying yours is i mean just in general) you get a ps3 it plays everything almost, has usb at the front you can play games, hookup a play tv and you have everything you need ( besides amp) and you can record to it and watch another channel...

Man, I'm a noob at this forum, and I can't believe the first post I'm making has to do with Blu-ray discs. MM, it's possible all you may have is some 'dirt' or what have you affecting the player's ability to read the discs. Try to clean the machine before tossing it - or the discs.

If dirt isn't the problem, get yourself a decent player. I don't know what you have, but if it is a cheap-o machine, off to the dumpster with it. I only jumped in because my job has me working with DVD/Blu-ray releases, and I can tell ya' they're going to stop producing DVDs in the not too distant future - once the economic situation and market penetration is right. Blu-ray discs are cool, and in case you aren't aware, the capacity for these things may double in the next year or two due to some breakthroughs that have been made on tech side of things. This is good news for a lot of folks looking for cheap ways to store a lot of data, like porn collections. Just kidding. Maybe.

Save the anger for some ... I dunno, idiot who walks up to you at the Quickie-Mart and asks "... what are you on?".

Thanks guys i.ll look into ps3 not into games. but a huge home theater fan and i have the sound and TV to go with it. obvious not the blue- ray player. and i always clean them first. netflix they usually look like people have been eating off of them win they come.

Its probably skipping because you are using a blu-ray disk and not a blu-ray disc. Huge difference.

i have been doing some research and there's a company called oppo that makes a blu ray player that supposed to be one of the best out there and they only thing they compare it to is PS3 live and learn spend the money i did it on the TV and the AV amp and speakers

If you're going to get a bew blu ray player. Make sure it has BD live capability. So many extras on a blu ray disc that you would never see without the BD live feature on your player. Unless you have a PS3. then you already have it built in.

I paid $600 for mine. Now what sucks the new blue ray movies that are coming out, mine doesnt support them. I have to get some part now for my player. Have to call panasonic again next week..
