Bob Paris best conditioning ever?

From the day I picked up a weight I have been an enormous Bob Paris fan. That is the only physique of any bodybuilder that I wish I had.

I have just seen the video of him competing at the German GP in 1987. I've never seen this vid before.
It has to be THE best conditioning I have ever seen on him. Crazy good.

I do think the image has been ‘noodled’ with; sharpening, contrast, HDR? Just does not look right.

Anybody seen him in a video in that condition? I haven’t and I have watched heaps of his videos.

I don’t think people realize how big these guys are. Sure they don’t weigh as much as guys today but he is super dry and shredded and that’s why. Also he isn’t full of water and glycogen like guys today that is just dry hard sinewy muscle.

I guess 99.99% of all men would prefer to look like Mr. Bob Paris, an aesthetic and pleasing physique. And I'm sure 99.9999% of all Women would prefer to have a pleasing Bob Paris as their Husband/Boyfriend ;-).


Personally, if I could make a Faustian Deal with the devil - I'd prefer to look like Markus Rühl at his best. Give me the huge, blocky, absurdly inhumanely huge mass.

He wrote a pretty good book, "Gorilla Suit". His honesty about pro BBing was very insightful.
Bob was the CBum of the late 80's-mid 90's IMO. Unfortunately Classic Physique wasn't around then.
Likewise, Bob Birdsong was the Bob Paris throughout the 70's.

In absolute agreement here. Perhaps my all time favorite.

Somewhere I still have the letter he sent back to me after I wrote to him asking for an autographed photo. I can't remember the exact wording, but I remember being impressed by his kind words of encouragement.
