Sounds like acidosis. Kidneys and lungs can't control your pH. Could be a lot of things, none of them good. Dehydration, kidneys can't handle the glucose, respiratory distress, acetic acid (from booze), etc.
Diet and spices, also. At one point, I was eating and taking a lot of garlic as a supplement to lower cholesterol. The sweat and oils from my skin would burn my eyes during workouts and over time, eat through my cotton t-shirt pits and boxer briefs. No odor really, just acidic. I'm guessing sulfuric acid from sulfur-based compounds in the garlic. Stopped the garlic, problem gone.
